How do you stand the wait?

I'm packed & tapping my fingers for Thursday! My DD is so anxious she takes forever to fall asleep at night. I have the days off so I'm going a little crazy trying to find things to do. DH told me to start getting things ready for Christmas. I told him "to hell with decorating, I'm going to Disney!"

What do you do to lessen the suspense?

I actually printed out some address labels for Christmas cards that I plan on purchasing on our trip!

I packed/repacked/ and today plan to repack once again:eek:

I spend many hours on the DIS asking all my panic questions :earseek:

I preplan my cruise attack! Where to be when etc.. reservation/lifeboat drill/dismeet/sailaway!

Last night I actually flipped through passporter again and read a section I don't remember ever reading! This book has so much to offer! It is a must have IMHO :earsboy:

As far ask the kids, they are so excited they slept "upside down" in their beds last night - they thought that would be fun! Whatever, I don't care - we are going to WDW!!!!!! They will be hard to contain tonight but I will let them stay up late so they sleep in a little in the morning (yeah right!)

Good Luck - and Happy B-day to your DD

Carolyn

I deal with my wait hoping I can get everything done before we go -- right now, I am not sure -- I don't have a list, any list, of anything to be done - so that is first on my list, to make a list --

Have paid, booked excursions, linked dining reservations with other Dis'ers, made Palo plans with really fun Dis'er (read guy with the big fish) who is continuing to hang on to his early dinner seating, shopped with my DDs for their formal and semiformal, and that is about it.

Guess I have lots to do - so, no, I will not have any problem dealing with the wait - I think mine will be the other way around - PANIC, PANIC, PANIC!!!

Fortunately for me Christmas is between now and our cruise in January. (I work for The Salvation Army ... 'nuf said) Also, my wife's 50th birthday is January 1 so I am planning a party for that. This, I hope, will keep my mind off of the wait. We'll see. :hyper:

I pass the time by reading this forum and taking notes so that I do not miss anything while we are gone.

Making sure everything is ready for Christmas is a big one too. I dont want to shop when I get home!

Less than 2 weeks to go. Whoo Hooo!

I spend the time planning for the next cruise.:Pinkbounc :bounce:

We also like to spend the day or 2 days before the cruise at the Radisson.

Spend alot of time on the boards too.

Have a great cruise:wave:

And those report cards, they are due Dec. 8th, I finished my last observation today but goodness to write them all up takes a lot of time- I have not even BEGUN to take inventory for the cruise- suntan lotion etc........... this weekend I really need to get going

I booked by land/sea vacation back in July of 2002. Then I discovered these boards. I am on here every day reading and rereading the posts. I answer some to the best of my ability and then post some of my own questions. I read about must have items like the over the door storage hanger and collapsable laundry hampers. Then I make a trip to Walmart and purchase the "must haves". Leave me tell you that this has been a very, very long wait. Our vacation isn't until April 2004!!! I guess that I am just trying to hold onto my sanity until then!!!!!!!!!!!

its not easy waiting to go, we're not leaving till next july, but in the meantime i calculate the money needed, what we'll be doing when we get there, we're doing 3 park days before the 4 night wonder and then 2 more park days before we do the 7 night eastern, so i plan and replan everything out, drives my family crazy, especially when i say who wants to talk about "the trip", thats why i love these boards, lots of disney information that helps in the plan and replanning of everything

I can't hardly wait any longer, but I will have to wait 40 more days. I read these boards about 10 times a day. I also read other sites and travel books. This will be our first cruise ever and I am so excited!! :hyper: :hyper:

I used the nervous energy to get everything done at work and home before we left. All those little projects and cleaning chores that get put off. Getting so many things done let us really enjoy the cruise, knowing we wouldn't have to get home and do 100 things.

This is exactly how I feel, mcgrawfan.

I don't even want to go to work. I am downcounting the days, reading this board, checking the hotwire site, getting the packing list ready. I have done everything that I could. But, I still have more than 100 days to wait!

:(

I know how you feel. When I booked our land/sea family vacation, we had 541 days until our vacation (08/17/04).

Less than a year away now, but still feels like an eternity. I read the Disboards daily, read the unofficial Disney guide book a lot trying to get new ideas.

Good luck, I know what your going through.

And Who might this hanger-on be?

Hmmmmm????????

Jim - if the shoe fits...

I did say he was "really fun" ;)

even if he prefers the elephant

Bonnie,

Thank God women say "I like a guy with a sense of humor"!

Bonnie:

PS I am the only one in my family who eats elephant.

Every one else eats donkey.

Jim -- you've been redeemed -- we have one who has strayed in my family also. She lives in Dallas - I want to believe she honestly could not help herself!

However, my father, who was a donkey consumer in Boston, and ran with the eldest son of a rather prolific donkey breeder out on the cape, would roll over in his grave if he thought that one of his progeny prefered elephant!!

And yes, most of us prefer a man with a sense of humor!!
