How do you spend Disney Visa Redemption Dollars?

Usually I use it to pay for my park tickets. I buy those a little in advance of the trip and so whatever few dollars I earn in the meantime I take to the parks with me and use on souvenirs. This time I'm using the majority of my points to pay off part of our cruise balance, but the general theme remains.

We've been accumulating the points/dollars for a couple of years now. Ours is going towards our family suite, it's covering a little over 1/3 of the room for us! We have gift cards for food.

I usually only have about $150 on mi e, so I save it for my "splurge" souvenir such as my Dooney.

Sorry just saw your question now, glad you got the answer! I am not staying on property this time so no room charging although trying not to charge much this time anyway.

I use the majority of the rewards to pay off the trip balance at the 45 day mark. Then we switch to option 1 (the remaining 2 months+- of rewards since the trip pay off will be added before we leave). So we usually have around $100 for spending in the parks.

There are a small number of restaurants that you can get 10% off at in addition to the ten percent off a $50 or greater merchandise purchase at most stores. I know Boma and Trails End are on the list. I believe The Wave, Jiko, Sanaa, and Olivia's are on the list too.

I use mine to pay for meals & souvenirs (if I buy any). Depending on how much I have I might use it to purchase my ticket.

I use mine like cash, it is so fun to shop, eat and snack without any "real" money changing hands.

My plan is to pay for Hoop De Doo (why can I never remember how that is spelled?) We are doing our first trip in 2016 without the dining plan. I think my family will love the show and food. So prior to my 180 day window I will order the card, then use it to book the dinner. This will work, right?

I use mine to pay down my room/ticket package when my 45 day mark comes. We let it build every year and look at it as a "discount" on our total package price. Then we usually have about $20-30 dollars built back up by the time we actually leave, and use it for meals/snacks in the park.

We're probably going to use some of it to pay for tip at Ohana and Cape May. After that... who knows? Just regular charging I guess. Extra food or snacks? We're getting military discount on tickets and resort so that's already discounted enough for us.

We use it to prepay for the resort. Any rewards left over are saved until we book another trip.

Our CC is the main card in our house (I know there are better options, but this works for us). We accumulate points for about 3 years and use that to pay for our room/tickets. This year we are staying 7 nights in August at Poly. After our deal the points cover about 2/3 of that cost. Any points accumulated up to the trip are spent somewhere at the parks.

We use it at Once Upon a Toy in DTD. This way the kids get 10% off their souvenirs. Last time they also gave us a discount at the DTD art store (even though I don't think it is on the list of places, and our purchase was under $50 - the lady did it without me asking). We are hoping to make a more expensive purchase this year, so the 10% off will be appreciated there if it happens again.

We use the redemption card for meals. It helps take the sting out of those Disney meal prices!

I pay off the room and tax when I arrive. For our trip in 2011, I still had a few hundred dollars left and used the remainder on our DCL cruise. For our trip in 2014, it paid for all but about $300. This is after saving points for three years each time.
