We are taking our very first Disney cruise this coming April 12th. We are big Disney lovers (as all of us are, I'm sure) We just got back a couple weeks ago from a 9-day stay in WDW (I'm in the middle of scrapbooking that trip)

I'm also OCD when it comes to planning an organizing a trip (especially Disney) So even though I have over 8 months before we sail, I need to get down to the nitty gritty NOW!!!!

We have been on one cruise before (last year on the Norwegian Dawn) so I pretty much know how cruises work (with sea days, island days, etc)

Do you scrap "day by day", "island by island", "restaurant by restaurant", etc....or just go crazy and scrap away. I usually do a 2-page 12x12 spread for each thing I'm going to do. Like, I'm doing a 2-page 12x12 spread for each country in Epcot, then one for Lights Motor Action, then one for castle pics, etc.

Here are the ideas I have for our Disney cruise (these will all be a 2-page spread)
**St. Maarten--various pics
**St. Maarten--beach or if we do an excursion
**St. Thomas--various pics
**St. Thomas--Coral World Marine Park (thinking of doing this for an excursion)
**Castaway Cay--I'm sure I'll have a bajillion pics here
**All the delish food, I'm sure (NOW, do you scrap this with pics from the restaurant or do you do a 2-page spread of ALL food from the week) I did the latter from our other cruise and I've always had alot of comments on those pages. No journaling, no explanations, just food pics.
**Various pics throughout the ship
**Various pics in the pool
**Character pics
**Restaurant pics
**Formal pics
**Show pics (No, I won't be using my flash)
**Towel Animals

What other pages or pics can you think of? Please help a Disney Cruise newbie!!!

*Cruise terminal
*Pictures of "arrival"--ship, signs, etc
*Room pics
*Club pics for kids
*Sail away party
*Embarkation photo and going on ship
*Last morning and pictures of leaving
*Farewell with characters
*Pictures with captain
*Shows on pool deck on sea days

What about a spread for "New Friends" including your table mates and/or DIS folks you meet IRL on the cruise?

We went on a DCL cruise last year and I am scrapping day-by-day. I took my Deluxe DCL Passporter with me and wrote down what we did everyday! I am just getting around to scrapping and filling in those pages helps me remember what all happened when! Also be sure to go to Guest Servicesand get extra copies of the navigators each day. (I took a folder to store the in). Most of all have fun!!! We are booked on the 15-night next year.:dance3:

I'm new to scrapbooking, but I plan on doing an ABC of DCL section for general photos. Then I want to do layouts of each dining area, a pirates night, snorkeling, beach theme for Castaway Cay, New Years Eve, our anniversary, and I want my DS to take some insider photos for the Aloft.

I am going to do something similiar, on our last trip to WDW, I had a paper for each day with:
park we went to, restaurants and food we ate, weather, characters we met, anything funny that happened, rides etc.
At the end of each day, I jotted down notes from that day. them when I got home, and developed my 35 (yes you read it right, 35):scared1: rolls of film- didn't have my canon rebel XTI yet:banana: , it was so easy to scrapbook it day by day. I plan on doing the same for this trip, 1 week in WDW and 7 night eastern DCL, so lots more memories to write and scrapbook about!!:goodvibes

LOL, that's a good idea. But I'm assuming that each table at dinner accommodates 8 people, right? Well, we are a family of 4 who is traveling with a family of 3 and we will be sitting together each night. So unless they throw one other person into our mix, I think it'll be just the 7 of us.

I've always heard about people getting tablemates and then they become friends down the line. Sounds wonderful. On our cruise last year (it was freestyle) so we always sat just the four of us. I think it would be kind of neat to have tablemates that you don't know but get to be friends by the end of the week. (I'm sure that doesn't apply to EVERYONE, but I've heard most cases are like that)

Don't forget
-Pirate night
-all of the character shots
-your servers (hope you get some fun/friendly ones).
I'm about 75 percent finished with my cruise scrapbook, and I've done it by topics like you have listed (and some topics have more than one 12x12 2-page layout). And some things, of course, just happened and deserved a spread by themselves (like DS3's special chat with Cinderella one night).
Our DIS group was huge and so special---so I have several pages to do featuring the green people!

I always love looking at other layouts with great themes, but can't bring myself to do more than scrap day-by-day because I'm anal like that. :rolleyes1

hmm Im going to be keeping an eye on this tread to see what to do for our cruise. Great ideas.

what about pics of your cruise staff... ie room steward, wait staff, photographer, purser that helped you book your NEXT cruise, Favorite bartender LOL etc.

any one got ther DCL pages to share
would love to see them

Great pages, Cajun Girl!

I'm going to be hosting a cruise swap on the swap board next month if any of you are interested in building up your supply of cruise scrapbooking goodies. It will be open to everyone so hope you can join us!

Here's a link to my album. I did my pages in chronological order, although they are not in chronological order on twopeas. I couldn't figure out how to change the order once I posted the pictures.

Most of mine are 2-page spreads so you'll need to click on the links to see the 2nd half.

this is great! i'm just getting ready to start an album from our 3rd cruise, the first two I did more day by day with the ports, activities and dinners. At the beginning i had several layouts of pictures around the ship. BTW -- i was up way early one morning and have some great pics of the ship areas, empty if anyone needs any -- PM me and i'll see if i have what you need. it's the Magic after last drydock

thanks for sharing all the creativity!! i want to do a different organization this time, this will start me thinking

i'll be watching for that swap!

oh yea -- if you can -- have someone on the cruise board 'snap' a picture of the ship as it's pulling out of PC on your departure. Verandah Man has done this in the past --

i have a link in my signature to my first cruise album -- i'm just finishing my 2nd but i need a better way then scanning the layouts to get it online?

Do anyone know where I can get cruise journal pages? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I smiled when I read your post - I have to tell you that back in 2009, on a DCL cruise, we became great friends with our tablemates. In fact they became our best friends. We are the same age and have the same interests. While our friends live in Canada and we live in South Florida, we travel together and try to see each other as often as we can. We visit each other's hometowns and have met each other's extended families. There isn't a day that goes by without a text or email from each other - its wonderful! We will see them next week at WDW - we are walking the Mickey Jungle Jingle 5k and we are also spending Christmas week together at WDW. They like to come to Florida as often as possible in the winter and we escape the heat by visiting them up north in the summer :)

I cruised with the mouse three times, but have only completed a few layouts from our most recent trip (July 2012)

This was scraplifted from two layouts I saw online and combined. I'd seen the layouts before the cruise, so I purposely walked around CC and took photos of the details.

The photo of my grandsons showed up in our onboard photo album, I Googled the smaller photos b/c I didn't take but one photo of the Aqua Duck (what WAS I thinking, lol).
