I am sitting here DISing and our police/fire scanner is going off. There is a fire in town and the dispatcher keeps calling out for all fire personnel to respond to a CHIM IN NEY fire. (We are a volunteer FD in this town.)

It just sounds funny for a sad situation as she is screaming across the scanner...ALL FIRE PERSONNEL PLEASE REPORT FOR A CHIM IN NEY fire, CHIM IN NEY fire. PLEASE report for a CHIM IN NEY fire.

I asked DH how he says it and he says CHIM NEY.

My mom says Chim LEE, too! Drives me crazy, but then she mangles prostate/prostrate and can't say mammogram -- it comes out mam e o gram!

I thought it was because she's originally from Pittsburgh, but I've lived here two weeks now and haven't heard anyone say Chim Lee. A lot of "yuns", though!
