How Do You Say GoodBye?

A tradition I'd like to do every time we go:

Our last day was at MK and we stayed for the fireworks. The line at the bus stop was too long so we decided to take the monorail to CR. As we were pulling away I looked back at MK and there was Mickey!! He was up above the train station waving to us!

It was the perfect ending to a great vacation!

When I'm solo, I'm at the Epcot, so I go on Spaceship Earth and ride the monorail between Epcot and MK. And I always get my hand stamped when I leave the park. That's a big tradition for me on the last day-it really says I'm coming back! If DH is with me, I still try to get to a park, so I can get my hand stamped, then we go to DTD, and eat at Ghiardelli's before we go to the airplane.

The first trip, we ended with Epcot. Last year we went to MNSSHP our last night and stayed pretty much until it ended, and on our way out we saw Daisy and Darkwing Duck, then walked out together, and looked back once before we went to the bus. So sad to go.

We started the tradition of throwing a quarter into the wishing well by the castle close to the Belle storytime area and making a wish. I don't know about DH, but my wish came true. My mom and I leave for WDW on Sunday! I plan on doing it again before we leave!

When my DDs were very young there was a sign right outside the MK exit that said "See you real soon". We would always take a photo of them, or later on a video, so we could compare them growing up each time. The sign was no longer there one year, so we used to have the girls make one out of whatever was handy and hold it up. After several years, they just stopped ("C'mon Mom/Dad, do we have to?") wanting to do it. We still at least get them to pose (reluctantly) at Downtown by the Christmas statues for our Christmas cards. Now that they are 14/18 our tradition is to always be in MK for our last day and try not to look back when we leave.
