We usually eat only 2 meals per day. We usually book a character breakfast for the latest possible time. This serves as a sort of lunch. Then we eat a counter service dinner. The kids might have a snack (mickey bar, etc. while watching the fireworks or late show.
We also share meals if we are doing a sit down lunch. We find that ordering 2 meals is perfect for us - I share with my older DD and my DH shares with my younger DD. This gets us full enough without being over stuffed. If we feel a little hungry later, we might get a mickey bar or dole whip.
The foot long hotdogs are LONG and can be shared by 2 kids.
I often will eat a kids meal at counter service places because I don't need a lot. This works especially well at EPCOT where there is a little more variety on the kids menu.
I used to use the food vouchers, but those are no longer readily available.
We have stayed at both the moderates and the value hotels. We will probably do the values from now on because we personally didn't feel much difference in the experience b/n moderates and values, so we will save the money.
We usually drive since its cheaper than flying 4 people.
I gave my kids $50 each to spend on souvenirs and that was it. What I did is if they saw something they wanted to buy, I would write it down in my little notebook and then at the end of the trip, they decided what they wanted.
I purchased rain ponchos at the dollar store (2 for $1) before our trip.
I purchased glow necklaces before our trip to avoid the kids wanting light up toys. (Although my DD did once spend her souvenir money on one of those light things that spell words when you twirl it around. We bring this back on every trip.)
