How do you reward yourself?

I'm just curious how everyone rewards themselves when they reach milestones in their weight loss journey. I have just lost 25 pounds! Yea me! I never thought in my wildest dreams I would get this far because I have never been this successful before. I would like to do something to recognize my efforts. I don't want to spend a lot of money but just a little something.

I decided to get a manicure but it was almost $25. So I went to the local beauty store and bought the stuff to give myself a manicure at home. It's not as pampering but I spent about $25 and now I can give myself a manicure whenever I want! Plus I think for every 5 pounds I lose from now on, I'm going to buy a new color to add to my collection.

Anyway, I just wanted to know how my WISH buds plan to reward themselves along the way so I can maybe pick up a pointer or two on how to treat myself right. I manage to treat everyone else in my life well expect for one little old person - me!

Thanks for your help!

I happen to have three bottles of fine, single-malt scotch in my cupboard. My first mini-goal is 20 pounds (three more to go) and when I get there, I'm gonna have some Glenfiddich. :hyper:

I will usually buy myself some pretty fresh cut tulips or something as equally pretty depending on the flower season!

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'm not a drinker but I do love flowers. That's a cool idea for my 50 pound lose. Send myself a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my desk at work. Any other suggestions?

Jerry - Are we allowed scotch on SBD? I'm going to have to keep my eye on you ::yes::!

Hi Lisa - it's a GREAT idea to treat yourself. It keeps you motivated and encouraged I think. Besides losing weight is HARD work and you deserve it! ::yes:: I treat myself a lot on this path downward. ;) I've had my hair highlighted. I think that was for 25 lbs. I buy myself a new outfit - sometimes a size smaller than I actually am now to give me some incentive to keep going downward, a manicure is a great idea, a new book, new bubble baths or special lotions, a new pair of earrings, anything that helps you to feel good! :teeth: Congratulations on your loss! I love reading your journal - your positive attitude is inspiring and you should be so proud of the success you are having!

I am saving up my reward for when I reach goal. I plan on taking my daughter (10) to the city (NYC) and go clothes shopping with lots of money (hopefully). This will also be nice because we will be moving to FL and who knows when we'll be back in NY.
good luck

I treat myself to a book. I love to go to the bookstore without DD. I can relax and look through books at my leisure. What a treat. Now I just need to find time to read it.

I treat myself all the time!! :hyper: I buy really nice lotions, earrings, underwear. Anything that makes me feel good about myself. My big treat will be when I finally get down to my goal weight and I can go shopping for a whole new warderobe of clothes!! :teeth:

Today I treated myself for sticking with Atkins for 3 complete weeks now..I never get my hair cut ..usually once a year so I got a new haircut the stylish little short flip up that's been popular for a while
I love the idea of buying clothes in a smaller size...I'll have to do that when the spring clothes come out.

I like the flowers idea...maybe i'll do that for my 5 pound mark. When I hit 10, i'm going to get a massage at the gym, 20 maybe a new outfit and when I hit my goal of 25.....I am going to try out for The Festival of the Lion King....that is my ultimate goal and my motivation for losing weight and getting fit. Even if I don't make it I can say I tried!

Ginger, what a wonderful ultimate goal! If you make it into the cast, please let us know.

My ultimate goal is to host a formal 12th anniversary party for me and DH. We only had a civil ceremony when we were married and I am dying to get all dressed up and have our pics taken with all our family and friends dressed nicely for the occasion and celebrating with us. I keep a vision in my head of the dress I want to wear and my DH looking elegant and dashing in his tux and tails. It helps to keep me going.
