How do you restore an iTunes library?

I have a new laptop and I'm trying to restore my iTunes library from a backup that lives on an external hard drive. So far, I can only figure out how to put a single song at a time back into iTunes, but is there a way to do the whole thing? Anyone know? I can't sync my iPod b/c I accidentally erased everything on it Thanks so much!

This is how I fix iPod issues: Honey, this isn't working, please fix it.

Then guess what? I shows up in my handbag all fixed. It's a miracle!

Ok, if you can access your hard drive music folder, it won't be too hard, just take awhile, depending how much music, etc you have.

On itunes, click on Edit then Preferences the Advanced.

Check both keep itunes organized and copy files to itunes folder

Now click on File then Add Folder to Library

Browse until you find the music file on your portable hard drive.

Choose the folder and it should begin importing.
