How do you resist puppies? ~* Updated his name is Tyler

Janette, we have 2 bichons. They are adorable if I do say so myself. DD, DS and I all have allergies including asthma, but no problems with our fur-babies. They are good natured, easy going and sweet.

Their drawbacks? They are hard to train and a little stubborn. They also need frequent brushing or their hair matts, as you could see by looking at my dogs right now. They need grooming in the worst way. We tend to do well with the brushing and then forget for a while. Not the best way to go with a bichon. By the way, their name means curly lap dog and mine love to sit on a lap.

Let us know what you decide. I hope you get one. They are the cutest! Your girls would flip out!

Well as I feared we couldn't resist. We now have an additional family member named Tyler. He's a cutie and I don't think the girls are going to be too rested for school tomorrow. They are taking very good care of him.

I'll get some pics and let ya'll see him soon. :)

Congratulations Janette andWelcome to your new home, Tyler! You're a lucky puppy, you're now part of a wonderful family!!

Friends of our have a Bichon named Harry. I have yet to see him WALK anywhere. He BOUNCES! He's cute and fuzzy and playful, with the sweetest disposition. He did well learning basic commands, but they really had to work with him. One of their kids has bad asthma and allergies, and he's had no problems in the year since they've had Harry. Warm, happy, fuzzy puppies are impossible to resist! Welcome home Tyler!

Awwwww! That's wonderful! I can imagine how excited your girls are! That is so cool! :) Good luck to all of you!!! :)

I wanna see pics too, Janette!

And I agree with Merry Poppins....they can be stubborn. Gibson still won't obey the "come" command. Just sits and looks at you with that adorable face. Hopefully you'll be more firm with yours than we've been with Gibby....we've spoiled him rotten.

Good news is he's completely housetrained. Bad news is he's still chewing on all our stuff, in spite of the fact that he has more toys than DD!

Have fun, Janette....let us know how it's going!

I could never have a dog growing up because my mom and brother were allergic. When I was 16 we learned about Bichons and my mom let me get one. She was the sweetest dog!
Candy (Cotton candy ;) ) was such a fun dog. Most Bichons love to be near people but our dog would love you up when you came home and then just do her own thing. She was a weird Bichon but we loved her anyways. She was pretty smart and learned everything but Come. Like a previous poster, she would just look at us and tilt her head to the side. :)
I would give her a bath about every two weeks or so and blow dry her hair and then she had to go to the groomers at least every 8 weeks.
My mom or brother never had a problem with her with their allergies and asthma. But everyone is different.
Congratulations on your new family member!!
