all the pins you have when you go to WDW??? :( I now have more pins than my brain can remember!!! I know about pin pics, and i don't really want to bring all my pins to WDW (just my trading pins).

Do you just take a chance when you trade with a CM, and figure if you already have it, you will now have a new pin to trade when you get back home? or do you have pictures of all the pins you have to help you remember.

I'm thinking of taking "group pictures" of my pins with a digital camera to help me out.

Feel free to tell me if i'm being to nutsy about this :p , i know i should just enjoy the trade :Pinkbounc .

Thanks!!!

I usually take a chance. If nothing else, I've gotten some new traders for either online or the next time I go to Disney.

I make a pinpics group of the rack pins that I want (and most likely will find on CM lanyards) and that fit my collections, print that off and then trade for those pins. Doing that also helps with online trades because then I can just send the person the link to either the DL list or WDW list and it's easier for them to find a trader then trying to sort through my normal want list which runs 700 pins of all types. It's also easier to do that then print off my collection (1-2 pages vs. 16).

On my last 3 trips, DH has stayed home so I also call him up and have him look through my pins :) If I end up with one or two duplicates, they just wait for the next trip.

Several times in the last few months, I have excitedly traded for pins only to get home and discover that I already had them. I attribute this to two things: early onset senility and just plain having too many pins!! :D To me, it is cause for a good chuckle at my own expense as I think to myself "gee, I guess I liked that pin so much I traded for it twice!"

So are you nutsy? Not any more than the rest of us! :D

Yep

I was pretty good about knowing what I had -- until I hit about 1400. Now I have to double check or reference Pinpics.

Apparently the short term memory loss comes in different flavors.

For oldsters like myself, it means I forget just about everything.

For my teenage sons, it means they forget just about everything <b><i> I tell them!</b></i> Other than that, they seem to remember pretty much everything, so I just ask one of them, "Hey do I have this pin?" :teeth:

But in case you don't have a pair of teenagers to consult, here's another idea. And to give credit where credit is due....Our DIS pinpals <b>Pongo and Perdita</b> have done this, and that's where I saw it.

They scanned each page of their keepers book (digital camera would work too). Printed off the pages. Slipped them into page protectors, and put them all in an inexpensive flexible binder.
It seemed to work very well.

A slight twist on that....If you have a PDA (Palm, Sony, etc.), you can download the images of the scanned pages. I am planning to give this method a try fairly soon.

:D

Thanks everyone!!!! I just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing anything obvious  you all had great ideas, i knew i could count on you guys! I'm hoping to come back with extra x-mas pins to trade!! My next mission is to start online trading ;) .

Hi,

I take a print out of my collection, trades & wants especially as it would cost a lot to bring it from the UK!

I mark off on my trades sheet what i have traded and tick off from my wants anything i get, plus also if I see a pin i like but dont recognise i make sure i dont already have it

This seems to work for me

Toni
