How do you remain calm in traffic??

I always think that in the big scheme of life, this is just a moment. And it does absolutely no good to get upset (although it is so easy to do so) and when I do get upset and angry about the nuts on the road, I don;t like how I feel when I get home. I am stressed out and very angry and unhappy. LIfe is too short.

Fact: there are idiots on the road, you can either accept that and ignore it or you can become one of them.

My DH thinks that the drivers do it on purpose, and we have had this discussion more than once. He now is much better when we are on the road. When he gets all angry and upset, it UPSETS ME! ANd then I am unhappy. So now all I have to do is just use a few key phrases and he calms down.
(It also helps that the most time we spend in the car together on the highway os on the way to or from his boat. And if he wants me to continue going, the car thing has to be kept under control. Works amazingly well!!)

I agree with Tamie, I just resign myself to the fact that there's going to be traffic, and nothing I can do about it. I also keep the CD changer full. That said, I don't drive in major rush hour (only the tail end, and the early drive home rush), but I do drive from Elk River, down to 394 every day. My poor DH drives from Elk River, to S Minneapolis every day, now he hates traffic!!! Can I ask what roads you drive on?

Another saving grace so far, has been no major snow, but we are dreading the morning it finally comes!!!

I sing, listen to a book on tape, or find a country road alternate route.
