I think Boma's problem is it's somewhere in between. For picky eaters, there are a lot of "strange" foods with unfamiliar spices. For adventurous eaters, they'll find the flavors not strong enough. It's that problem of Disney trying to cater to a larger group, but not really satisfying either end...
With that said, I love Boma and it's one of my favorite restaurants at Disney. There's plenty for my kids to enjoy, and I get to sample lots of different dishes that I don't get to try every day. Would I prefer a really traditional buffet with lots of spice and heat? Heck yeah, but the rest of my family would revolt! Everytime we've been, everyone has come away happy and satisfied...
We are staying at Disney next week and only have two reservations, Biergarten in Epcot, and Boma.
