How do you post a pic for the photo contest?

Can anyone help me? I've never tried to insert a pic in my post and for some reason I can't figure out how. I have a photo for this weeks contest. Please help.

Ok, first the picture has to be on a website, like photobucket or snapfish, then you right click on the picture, got to properties, and copy the URL. Then in your post here on the DIS if you look right below where your fonts are there is a picture that looks like a postage stamp. Click that button, paste the URL, and hit ok. That should do it for you. If you have any trouble let me know and I will help. We still have about an hour before I post the contest poll.

Why do photos need to be on a website like Photobucket or Snapfish? Why can't you just take them from your "album" on here?

My pictures are on my HP instant share site, but how do I transfer them here ?? What is considered the URL on these pictures ? I know.....what a dummie I am.....but can you help ? Thanks !!!

The easiest method I have seen is using www.photobucket.com site. Upload a picture. Then, under the picture is all the code you need, the

at the end. Come here and paste.

I wish I could just pull a photo from the files on my computer. It's too much trouble to load the photos on a website just so that I can post them here, because I don't have any other reason to put them on a website. I guess I won't be entering any of the contests.

On a related note I've noticed the pictures people post from photobucket all post at different sizes. Some are small and some are big.

How do you change that? Mine always post small.

You may be getting the url properties from the thumbnail picture by right clicking on it, as you would have to do here on the DIS photo site. You need to just copy and paste the img code that is below the picture in photobucket.
