We are going down on Sunday for a week. I love to trade and have many, many traders. I do not like to drag my trading bags along with me. I end up carrying a small pouch of pins to use for trading off CM lanyards. I almost always see someone that has great pins to trade that makess me wish I had my bag with me. There will be 6 of us in total, so it is not like I am going to parks just for pin trading.

I am going to do my best to get to the Contemporary on Friday night. I have never been and do not know what to expect.

My question is, when you guys that are not from the Orlando go to WDW do you drage your stuff with you every day? I know there are a lot of locals that take there stuff with them daily, but I don't want to do that?

As a pin trading novice, I wore a lanyard and then kept a supply of traders in my fanny pouch. I generally gave pins to the CM out of my pouch and put the pins I acquired on the lanyard. In general, this worked out well for me and allowed me to carry more pins without being bogged down too much.

I wear two lanyards and generally have a fanny pack to store them in while I go on rides.
Last time DH drug around the large pin bag. Not sure we will this time. May just store it in a locker while in the parks.
I can tell what not to do -- don't stash traders in your pants pocket. Some pool soul posted on Dizpins that they had traders in their pockets and were charged with shoplifting at DAK, stripped of their AP and banned from the parks. :( Not worth taking a chance on that one!!! Yikes!

I usually where my lanyard with a dozen or so pins, and then have a fanny pack pin bag that allows me to carry about another 70-100 pins. I also picked up the AK back which I may use to store my keepers. I always carry a back pack but try to keep that as light as possible. Just keep a jacket, a small sketch book (never know when an idea might hit! :D ) and a few other odds and ends.

I have not been to the contemporary since Disney took over. When I was there it was a great atmosphere for trading. I would bring a small flashlight along. There are some dark spots on the 4th floor concourse that makes it a little hard to see some of the detail and especailly the inscriptions on the back.

Have a great trip! If you are at the Contemporary on the 31st look for me. I'll be wearing my pin trading logo.

Dom, I will look for you. I would like to meet you. You were kind enough to trade with me last year. I was very anxious to get the Donald Memorial Day pin that was released. You were kind enough to trade with me thru the mail. I have always appreciated the trade as I did not hold out much hope of getting my hands on that one. Would like to thank you in person.

I will be the very touristy looking, short, little old lady wearing the glasses. :) Does that describe 25% of WDW Guests? :) Honest, I will look for you. If I don't figure out who you are, I will ask around.

Rwe
you have me rolling on the floor laughing!!!
You see, She and I work together and 'short little old lady' is in NO WAY how I would describe her!!!

Dom, she is shorter than me and she has curly blondish hair and yes glasses, and a wonderful smile! LOL

Rwe, Dom is probably about my height, has glasses and dark hair and will most likely be hanging out with the kids as he is a real sweet heart of a guy!

(still laughing!)

RewTHEREyet-- you are too funny! You sound rather defensive in the above sentence, almost like you really ARE going just for the pin trading but you don't want anyone to know it! ;)

DVCajun, well, to clarify myself, I was meaning if I was going just for pin trading, I wouldn't mind lugging around a big pin bag with lots of traders. If my primary focus is not pin trading, I find the bag to be a nuisance and very heavy when trying to see attractions.

I wish I had the luxury of a trip with nothing to do but pin trading and worrying about myself, but that will happen in September. :D

Hope you are well, let me hear from you when you get a chance. Got a move date yet?
