We hopefully start our drive to Disney tomorrow (please send pixie dust my van gets fixed in time and if not we can rent a van...long stressful story) Anyway, we are staying at AKL and have sunrise safari and the GF pirate cruise reservations. Will those automatically be charged to the credit card or can we pay cash for these when we get there? I'm just concerned if we do need to find an alternate form transportation it may take the credit card closer to the limit than I'd like. DH wanted me to find out if we could even give the hotel $x and then just have whatever "bills" come up be taken out of that?

What we've done in the past is charge everything to the room, food, illuminations cruise, souvenirs.
And before I hit the limit or check out (whatever comes first) I pay at the desk. I've used cash and visa check cards to do this.
This way it won't go against the original credit card that I used when I checked in.

Hope this helped!
Enjoy your trip!!!

that info helps a lot. Now that's one more thing I don't have to worry about.

To help take the "sticker" shock away, we have always made "payments" during our visits at the front desk, that way when the checkout comes at the end of our stay it is minimal that is put on the charge card.

When we did Pirate Cruise last September they automatically charged it to the card we gave when we made the reservation 24 hours before the cruise. I know this upset some people there who wanted to pay cash. I am not sure if this policy has changed since then or not.

We did the Pirate Cruise and the Wonderland Tea Party this past May, and they charged the credit card 24 hours beforehand. When you made the ressies, you had to give them a cc number, and that's the card to which they charged the fees. I'm not sure if, upon check-in, you can let the CM know that you would like those charges put on your room key, and they can contact the pertinent individuals so they would not charge your cc, but your room key instead. Not sure if they will do that, but it's worth asking.

Or, just pay the cost of the Pirate Cruise before your trip, so you'll have a credit on your statement. That way, it's all paid for before your trip, and you don't have to worry about a 'surprise' on your cc statement after you return home.
