How do you pack your laundry detergent?

Hi...I have a silly question. How do you/what do you pack as far as laundry detergent. I"m flying and trying to figure out the best way to pack it and get it there with no mess. My Mom found single use Tide packets to wash clothes in a sink...she thought I could use a couple of those for a load. Any other ideas on how you've transported it. Thanks.

If I can't find the laundry tabs I just pour a cup or dry laundry detergent into individual ziplock sandwich bags.I don't usually label them because i figure if they get suspicious the drug dog will let them know its not cocaine :confused3

Sandwich size ziplocs ("doubled bagged" just in case they open up).

I put one scoop of powdered Tide into each. I try to minimize the amount of liquid products that I have in my luggage - I figure it would be much easier to shake out my clothes if I get powdered detergent on them, rather than try to deal with the mess made by a leaky liquid bottle.

I put powdered detergent in a small ziplock, one ziplock per load and the put all of them in a bigger gallon size one. I also put dryer sheets in a ziplock.

I went to the Tide website and Walmarts website and sent for Tide samples. I couldn't find any samples for downy so I am going to use a 16 oz. empty plastic soda bottle for it.

Target has travel size Tide detergent for $0.99, as well as travel sized containers of dryer sheets (All I think) in the area with all the other travel sized items (soap, hand lotion, etc.). It does 6 loads (I think) and comes with the measuring cup as a cap. As I won't be doing that many loads, I poured some in a 4oz travel container (similar to what you would put shampoo in) and put the container (and the measuring cap) in a double zip-lock bag (so no leaks). I also put a handful of "All" dryer sheets in a zip-lock bag. This way I can use a few with laundry and the others I can put in the drawers to keep the clothes smelling nice. Also, for $0.99, if I have some left over, I can offer it to another guest to use and help them save a few $$.

I use my old, small dishwashing liquid bottle. Each one will hold 3 loads worth of detergent. Then I put the bottle in a zip type bag.

I put a scoop of Cheer and a scoop of Clorox II into a sandwich bag and then put the sandwich bags into a gallon ziploc bag. I also bring Downy sheets in a sandwich bag and a travel size squeeze bottle with Dawn to treat stains. Those also go into the gallon bag.

I put the powdered laundry detergent in the snack sized ziplock bags, so I don't have to measure at all once I get there. I put the filled baggies into labeled gallon sized freezer bag and bring the empties home again for next time. :-) I also bring dryer sheets and some of those little shout wipes.

Sample size that I got in the mail & also bought a small 3 load size of liquid tide from target - put into ziploc for extra insurance against breakage.

In the past I've just gone to the laundrymat and bought the little boxes - only about 3 and put them in a plastic bag and bring dryer sheets in a plastic bag as well....

I didn't know about the Target tip...I'll have to check that out!

I buy Wisk Laundry TABS, just for my trips. I think there are other brands as well, but that is the most popular brand I think in the Tabs...no Tide or Cheer that I know of. Work great though and they are already wrapped.

I got one of the Tide liquid from Target though for next time and will just double zip lock it for the flight.

Thank you everybody....I found the small size travel size Tide laundry detergent in Target today. Thanks for your help.

I just went to the Wisk website, and it says they no longer make the tablets. Does anyone know if they are still in stores?

We always ues sandwich baggies, but I'm intrested in the tablets, so I'll have to check that out. :goodvibes

We always get the travel size liquid Tide from Target I think. They have a whole section of travel sized items. Also they sell travel size empty bottles so you can put whatever you want ino them.
