I just bought a case of water to bring down to disney. We are flying. My dh thinks that I am crazy. I am thinking of packing them in ziplock bags and putting them in my suitcase. Do you think they will explode? Should I just put them in carry ons?
How do you get water down to disney?????

Hi - I packed water bottles in ziplock bags and then in suitcases. I put 4 bottles per gallon ziplock and they were fine. They did not explode and none of them leaked.

Water's heavy. Watch that packing it doesn't push your luggage over the weight limit for your airline (usualy 50 lbs.). Otherwise it would be very expensive water!

We were going to do that, then we found out about wegoshop.com and are going to have them deliver it to us. It may be a little more expensive with delivery charges, but it will be less than a cab and much much more convenient for us. :wizard:

I am interested in hearing about wegoshop. How does this work? I just looked at the site and am very confused. How much did you pay for water? I want to get 28oz bottles to bring to the parks. Thanks

I brought a big hard cooler and taped it shut w/ packing tape. It was filled w/ bottled water. I checked it w/ my airline (Spirit) just be careful it's not over the weight limit. They made me sign for it stating that they were not responsible for damage done to the cooler or the contents.
The cooler was very conveniet to have w/ us at the pool and the water park.

Haven't several people posted about buying water through Office Max's website and having it delivered for $5 shipping? That might me worthwhile. I'd much rather pay a few dollars and have it waiting for me at the hotel than try to bring a case of water on the plane.

Wow! I never thought of that. If anyone knows if and how this works, please elaborate!

Thanks!

It is actually from Staples. If you sign up for their rewards program you receive free delivery, no matter what size the order. I haven't done it yet, but pthers have posted this worked for them with no problems. I will be ordering a couple of cases to be delivered to me at Pop for our trip. My DH thinks I'm nuts, but for the price of 4 bottles in the parks we will have 2 cases!

If you rent a car you could go to Walmart or Publix. Otherwise I would look into having it delivered. It is much too heavy to travel with.

That is a good tip... :dog2:

Maybe I'm just not getting this, but why would anyone travel with a case of water? In case you didn't realize it, they sell water here in Orlando.

Albertson's was selling cases last week for $3.99. Publix usually sells it for $5-$6 per case.

Am I missing something here? :confused3

I'm wondering about the water because I'm flying and I have to have my Deer Park, can't get it here except at Sam's ;)

Also, since we're staying at the resort we don't want to rent a car to go to the grocery store. Although anytime I've ever gone anywhere I usually end up in a Walmart through no fault of my own. :rotfl2: Any chance ME would add Walmart to their list of stops? :rotfl:

Could you put it all in a small suitcase? Then you'd have an empty for souvenirs on the way home.

Well, there is or used to be a stroller swap, has anyone tried a joint grocery order to save $?? I'd like to get some breakfast stuff/snacks/water on hand for our room but the $15 wego charge is kind of steep. I've thought about packing for the plane but splitting the delivery would be less hassle & reduce the fee. Just have it delivered to one room & divide up?

If anyone's staying in POR around 9/23, let me know!

I emailed staples and got a reply. They told me that they have next day delivery. I need to call the number and place my order. Hey,even if it is an extra $5 for delivery that is still a better deal. Staples did say that they need a room number. I am going to call at the beginning of next week and state that I am arriving on the 23rd in the morning. Let's see what happens.
fsufandis- We all know that they sell water in orlando. When you do not have a rental car to get around it is a little hard or expensive to either rent a car or take a cab to a supermarket for water. Why bother wasting time when it can be delivered right to your hotel!
Thanks again

I'm packing some flavored water to take with us - much too expensive to have it delivered. I always bring an extra suitcase of snacks, etc. that I can use on the way home to fill with all the things that I don't need but buy anyways.

I pack 3 per ziplock, and split them between suitcases if needed.

My question is how much water? A family of four needs a case (at least that's what we have at home plus our other drinks). That's a heavy amount to be shipping/packing.

How much is enough?

Well it all depends on how much water you actually drink. Are you going to get refillable mugs at the resort? Is your family willing to carry them into the parks? I usually can drink one before even leaving in the morning while getting ready. I carry in one with me to the park in the morning. Will buy another in the park for the afternoon. I am not a pack mule who will bring in more than one. Then in the evening before heading back to the parks I grab another cold one from the room.

Is your family water drinkers? some kids turn up there nose at the thought? I would be more inclined to pack individual snacks in my suitcase and have water delivered. The added expense of delivery is worth not having to haul all that much weight in the suitcase.

this is just a guess here, but if you're arriving on the 23rd, i'm supposing that you have the free dining plan. that being said, i would get bottled water using your snack credits and as the beverage with counter service meals and forget the hassle of bringing/carrying h20.
