How do you organize stuffed animals?

When my brother and I were little, my mom got 2 of the rolls/tubes that carpets comes on. She had then cut so that they would stand the height of the room (floor to ceiling). Then she added those screws with hooks on the ends in a zig-zag pattern. Each stuffed animal had a ribbon around it's neck that allowed the stuffed animal to be hung on the pole. Mine was behind my closet door. That way I wouldn't run into it, but I could get to all my animals. My mom is so creative.

Your mom should have gotten a patent!!

DD is 4 and plays with her stuffed animals more than any other toys. She has a ton. We have a Little Tykes bench/toy box at the foot of her bed that is full to overflowing...we just leave the top open. Best part is it looks brand new, is a really pretty offwhite and pink with swirls on it, and I got it at the consignment store for $18!

DD9 had that same one when she was that age! At 9 though toy boxes in the room just aren't "cool" anymore. :rolleyes1

I bought my dd a very durable stuffed animal tree. It is the BEST investment I've made to help de-clutter her room.

It has around 50 elastic loops that can be stretched to accommodate 2 to 3 toys per band. She has at least a hundred stuffed toys all easily accessible to her but taking up a very small amount of space. I

:dogdance:

Love that! I've seen those in stores but never in a child's room. Great idea.

My daughters share a room, it is rather large, like master bedroom large. But this can work for smaller rooms as well as a toy or bonus room.

Anyhow, I bought a vinyl picket fence and made a stuffed animal pen. I purchased a premade panel of picket fence about 3 ft tall by 6 feet wide or so (Home Depot or Lowe's), a corner post and the brackets. I then cut 2 or so feet off the panel, had that come away from the wall towards the middle of the room, attached the corner post, then put the remaining panel running the direction of the wall. I put this pen against a corner, so that the wall made up the other short end.

I hope what I am saying makes sense, my camera is on the fritz or I would post a pic.

I then painted very tall flowers/green grass/srubbery on the wall to make it look like an outdoor garden/zoo scene. I am by no means an artist. By no means.

My girls have around a hundred stuffed animals. This holds all of them!!!!!!! Plus they are able to get most of the animals such as the webkinz out through the slats of the fence, I do not have to worry about them having to stretch and bend over or fall in the pen and not be able to get out. I did have a friend copy me on this project, her dh put a working gate on one end.

It was a little costly (I think around $50 ish??) but oh so worth it.

How cute! I would love to see a photo when you get your camera working.
