How do you NOT over eat?

We eat either breakfast OR lunch each day, never both. Also, we each order one entrée at dinner. If the wait staff encourages us to order more or brings one to sample, we decline it. I order either an appetizer OR a soup, not both. We also stay away from the pizza/burgers/ice cream stations on the pool decks. Honestly, that food is mediocre at best. And I agree with the others who say, if you are not enjoying something you are eating, don't feel like you have to finish it! I overate on my first few cruises and felt awful.

HMMMM... I have been reading lots of menus and I hadn't noticed that, thanks for the heads up. (Cali girl here too ! :smooth::sunny:)
Sushi it is !!

Don't get too excited. Sushi/sashimi/ceviche was not on the menu that often either...and when it was, it went FAST!!!

Most people eat more because it's already paid for it in your cruise. Myself included I usuallygain 10 pounds on a short 7 night cruise. Oprah Winfrey had a show about this one time not about cruising but people getting stuff just because it was free. Her workers they announced there was free flowers in such and such room people rushed to get there. All the Flowers was old but people was getting them just because it was free

No salad bars at the buffets?? Really????
How is this possible? Moderators, tell them we want salads!!
:thanks:
There are salad bars. Don't worry. Not sure why the PP didn't find them but they absolutely exist. On the wonder it was all the way in the back of BBB so I guess if you didn't go all the way back there maybe you would miss it. Its more obvious in Cabanas.

Don't feel obligated to eat. Just because it's there, doesn't mean you have to eat it.
I do not order apps, soup and/or salad with dinner (unless they are my dinner rather than the entree). I only order my entree. It's just too much food. I literally get sick if I eat too much and there is no reason to eat 2 bites and waste it. Usually my servers ask me if I feel ok. lol
I also skip the carbs. I ask them to leave the potatoes and bread out of just about everything.
I also walk and take the stairs as much as possible.

I'm short so gaining 10 pounds would be a no-no, as it looks like 20 pounds on me. I also try to be conscientious about what I am eating so I can have extra glasses of wine

At dinner, I also let the servers know to leave the carb out of the plate (rice, potatoes, etc.). The side dishes are very uninspired, so no sense in adding calories with that.

I usually order the fish option in the entrees - those are usually not too big.

I also order a soup or salad. It's a small portion and starts sending satiety signal to the brain.

I eat a hearty breakfast, but a small lunch (don't fill the entire plate and stick mostly to a protein and 1-2 veggies). I usually have a soup before too - it gives my body time to understand that I'm full.

Hardest is staying hydrated. With so many activities, it's easy to forget.
