How do you make your nose stop running?

Take an antihistamine if you can, that should help dry you up. Put some carmex or vaseline under your nose. I hate a chapped nose too!

Use an allergy medicine. Since they changed the cold medicines from people abusing drugs the cold meds don't work as well anymore. I had a runny nose for about a month and finally got so fed up I tried an allergy medicine. It cleared it right up and my cold went away in a few days.

I like to use Neosporin ointment with pain reliever when the end of my nose gets chapped. The pain relief agent (probably lidocaine?) really helps my nose feel better immediately.

I also swab the inside of my nose with Zicam Cold Remedy to help dry up my runny nose.

The joke or the diphenhydramine?

Diphenhydramine can be purchased in many, many boxes with different stuff printed on them - Benadryl, Waldryl, Unisom, etc. Find the cheapest one and get it - they're all diphenhydramine.

The joke - feet perform the function of running. Noses perform the function of smelling. So if your nose is running and your feet are smelling, the problem is that you're upside down. It's an old joke. I like it.

I have severe allergies and I used to live with chronic infections. I would get on these sneezing jags and go through the tissues. Have you ever noticed when you pull a tissue out of a box and you see that fine dust/lint floating in the air? Those particles were agitating my already sensitive nose. It would literally prolong the attacks and lead to using more. tissues. I got tired of spending a fortune on fancy tissue and I switched to nice, cotton handkerchiefs. That was the best decision I ever made regarding my fits. I saved a lot of money and I don't have that fine dust protracting my suffering. I have to wipe my nose less and I almost NEVER get chafing or soreness.

I resort to Nyquill when I just can't take it any more. I had a runny nose, a cough, a headache and was extremely achy the other night and Nyquill fixed me right up.

I love the runny nose and smelly feet joke.

This may sound weird but whenever I get one of those nasty colds and my nose won't stop running no matter how many meds I've taken for it I go to the bathroom grab some toilet paper and stuff it up my nostrils and leave it there. A little bit later and the nose has either stopped running or slowed down enough that I don't need to wipe constantly.
