How do you make your baked potatos?

OP - I usually nuke mine but I love getting a nice big loaded baked potato when I am out at a restaurant because they usually bake them in the oven - I love the crisp skin

I top mine with veggies - steamed broccoli or green beans, corn, carrots, peas whatever I have handy

for a full fatty treat - we top with chili, cheese and sour cream

after washing them, rub them with olive oil and roll them in kosher salt. whether you bake them or nuke them, them are good taters!!!!!!!!!!

Using tin foil steams the potato and can actually breed bacteria. (for years, I did this and managed to not kill anyone)

Wash the potato and slit it on one side. Brush on oil (either Olive or Vegetable will work) Sprinkle with Sea Salt. Place in hot oven 425º for faster baking or 350º for longer bake time.

The salt draws the moisture from the potato makes it light and fluffy. No worries about the salt either. The sea salt will NOT make the potato taste salty.

DO NOT PUT TIN FOIL IN THE MICROWAVE!

My 8 year old did this and the microwave exploded and burst into flames!

Hey, I'm a baked potato snob and I love em overcooked in the microwave. People hate them from the microwave because they undercook them.
Pierce them deep-not just the skin and turn them often so one side doesn't get hard from just laying there. Good stuff imho.

Microwaved Baked Potatoes are awesome!!

Depending how many I am making or the size, really depends on how long. If I'm making one large potato, I scrub it clean, rub on some salt, poke a few holes on both sides and set the microwave for about 8 minutes.

YUM!
