How do you make "friends"?

How do you make "friends" with people? I noticed on my profile it says friend list is empty. Obviously, I'm new to this whole thing! Also, when I read TR's do I have to "subscribe" to it so that I can follow it day by day? If anyone has any other helpful tips for me helping me navigate these DIS boards please let me know! Thank you!

Click on there name, and select:

Add to contacts

To befriend someone, just click on their username, it will take you to another page and there should be a link under their picture to befriend them. As for subscribing to threads...If you are interested in the progress of a specific thread, you can subscribe to it and it will send you email updates every time someone replies to it, keeping you up to date on any new developments within the thread itself.

Edit: When you subscribe to a thread you can choose whether you want no email updates, daily updates, or updates on every post.

I have hardly any friends that are actually listed but have made oodles and oodles of friends here on the Disboards.

I'd love for you to come over to my trip report and read. You'll see that we love to chit chat as well as talk about our previous trips and our upcoming trips. As far as subscribing to threads, you don't have to actually reply to a thread to subscribe. You can just go to thread tools which is on the top right hand side of a thread. Click on that and then click Subscribe.
