How do you make cash ressies?

I'm planning a trip for next May/June for 14 nights split between VWL, BCV, and BWV, using points. I want to make cash ressies for VB for 3 nights following. Do I go through MS for this, or call the resort directly? Will I definitely be able to get the "25% DVC discount"?

The member discount is only available if they do not think those villas will be sold on points. I'd say member discount at VB in June would be iffy.
