How do you make a request for housekeeping to come later?

I am planning on trying to do late EMH at MK on Wednesday, May 25th and that would mean that we would sleep in that morning. I was thinking that we will be out of the room by 3:00 p.m. Has anyone ever called housekeeping and requested late service? If so, how did it work?

I would think the "do not disturb" sign on the door knob would keep them from disturbing you in the morning. and maybe a call to housekeeping after you get up, just letting them know you have taken down the sign. I would bet with the late EMH's they are starting to get it a lot.

We leave the "Do Not Disturb" card on the door, keep curtains closed and make sure to double-lock the door. That way if they do try to get in, they can't. (Nothing like waking up to find the maid standing there!) We received a phone call asking us if we wanted housekeeping service when we've stayed really late. I don't think you will get it once they are done for the day. We'll just ask for clean towels. They'll exchange the towels, give you trash bags, etc., but you have to make the beds if you want them made!

When we were there a couple of weeks ago, we had mousekeeping come around 5 pm on two occassions. The first time, they knocked on our door when we were still in our room and we asked them to come back at 5 pm. The second time, we actually called mousekeeping and arranged for a late cleaning. Be forewarned, though: our experience is that, when the come later, they really do a very basic tidying job.

Put the Do Not Disturb sign out, close your drapes and earlier in the day contact the Housekeeping Super and let them know what time you would like your room serviced.

We just did this last week! We did as others have, put out the DND sign, double locked the door, then called housekeeping ourselves when we were ready to leave. It worked beautifully!
