Just been sitting here wondering if I would rather visit WDW more often on shorter trips. Or if I would rather visit not as often, but have longer trips. What do you guys think?
I prefer longer trips, that way its not rushed and you can enjoy your vacation better. The short trips are fun too, but then you are rushing around trying to get all your favorite rides and shows in, which can be exhausting.
for me it depends on when i go for christmas and new years we stay longer in may i stay shorter it also depends on the money situation. but i have been told the longer you stay the cheaper it is
I prefer longer trips. I usually do nine nights, wish I could do longer. My first trip was four nights and I did five nights before a three night Disney Cruise. My other two trips, and the one planned for this fall, were nine nights.
Reasons:
More bang for my airfare buck.
The current pricing on tickets makes longer trips more economical.
No need to commando, as you can usually get to each park at least twice.
I can schedule a down-day midweek, maybe sleep in and either do a water park or Disney Quest.
If I take a whole week off, someone has to cover my job! (Otherwise I'm trying to do five days of work in two or three.)
We just got back from a short trip 6 days, and our long trip 11 days is in august. I was completely exhausted with the short trip, trying to fit everything in, in that short amount of time was tough. My vote is for long trips!
Lately we have been doing shorter trips more frequently, but we did a 7 night trip last month and just cannot wait to return end of August, it was just not enough!!!
Everyone misses the place terriblely when they leave, but anyone else here feel they just did not get to do all they wanted and plan another trip right away for a few months away....DH and I both felt we wanted to go back as soon as possible this time...
I like to go on shorter trips, but I also only live an hour and a half away and am part of DVC. I can go for two days and only stay one night and make it worth while. I love to escape reality so often.
We live 3 hours away, we take a 4 day trip in 4 to 6 times a year. THis past Oct we stayed a week (evacuated for hurricane Wilma) and we were going nuts looking for things to do and stretch our time out.
My ex-husband lives in FL, so we are there at least 2-3 times a year for the kids to visit their dad. We've taken one long, multi-park trip and two short one-park trips, as well as my short solo ones. We're taking another long trip in August and I'm sure we'll enjoy park-hopping and staying a while, but we've also relished our quick visits. In our experience, focusing on one park and enjoying the resort is very relaxing.
We like it often and long! We go twice a year at least and stay 12-14 days each time. I wouldn't want to take shorter trips. We used to do that early on but learned longer is better for us.
We go twice per year once in May or Sept and once in Dec. We go for 5 nights or so, sometimes when we are there we add a day or two. It depends on how crowded it is and if we feel like going home or not.
When we go and how long we stay depends on where else we are traveling...sometimes we like to go to WDW (or USO) on the way home from the caribbean or the gulf coast of FL. It's a fun drive from the Gulf and a short flight from the BVI and it's a great way to end a trip.
