How do you like your Traverse?

We have a Dodge Caravan and DH is getting fed up with the way the side doors creak and let in tons of dust along with the rear hatch. He has adjusted them in the past but it doesn't stay put. My sister's Town & Country does the same thing. Not the best for living on gravel roads.

At Test Track we sat in a Traverse and DH liked it. Now he's been looking at them online. I'm not sure if we should spend the money (we'll probably buy used with mileage 30,000 or under). The All Wheel Drive option is definitely a plus. The lack of interesting colors available is a minus- our Dodge is actually a burnt orange color and it is nice to be able to spot it easily among the rows of blah colored vehicles!

So those of you that have them, how do you like them?

We bought a used Traverse in December last year, and we love it. We are moving to Alabama next week and we got it to transport our four Boston Terriers in for the trip. We went to Alabama a couple of years ago in my wife's Camaro with all 4 dogs and that was a nightmare, lol. It's a very comfortable ride.

I have had mine for about two years now and love it. I replaced my Town & Country with it and I'm so glad. There's not a lot of legroom in the third row, that's really the only issue we've had. The seats fold down easily, I haven't had any mechanical problems, although there have been some recalls, but those are free to have fixed so not an issue. It took me a little time to get used to parking it, it's a little awkward compared to the town and country, but that might just be me, I'm not the best at parking, lol.

I do agree about the colors though, mine is gunmetal grey and so is everyone else's. I personalized mine with some Disney stick figures and a decal to my daughter's college so I can find it a little easier.

LOL, my current top choice is a dark gray one, which to me is at least better than silver or white. The red and blue are nice, but haven't found one that has AWD, DVD, low miles, good price... When we first bought a minivan, we ended up with a gold Uplander- I hated it because it looked like a potato. I added Disney character decals to help. Not a month after we bought it, it was destroyed in a garage fire- so it was a "baked potato"! After that we got a maroon one and now this orange Caravan. I haven't gotten decals because this orange one is already "special" enough. If we get a neutral color, will have to dress it up a bit.

We have a Traverse and love it! We also bought our Traverse used. In 2013 the style changed slightly (stills looks a lot like the older ones) and we found the 2013's to drive nicer and more smoothly than some of the older ones we drove. Our Traverse is silver and the interior is black. I love the silver but wasn't fond of the interior color. Now, I can honestly say I love the black.

I like mine so much that when I replace it, I plan to get another Traverse.

We have a 2012 silver traverse, awd and love it! We got bucket seats in the second row and of course, it has the third row. We had a suburban previously and while we miss the space, we love saving on fuel. The automatic rear hatch door is there best ever! And yes, there are thousands of silver ones...lol. We would buy another one

I love mine, minus a couple of itty things. One, the second row seat tracks tend to collect a lot of dirt and crap. Second, I really wish it had a little more trunk space. Other than that, and the stupid recalls, I adore it. Lots of room, it's really comfy and it gets good gas mileage for the size. We have basic boring black (we got a really good deal otherwise it would not have been black) We have a soccer team decal on the back and a flip flop hanging from the rearview mirror so it's not too hard to pick out :)

Ditto this!

We have a 2011 we bought new and have been really happy with it! I agree about the dirt in the tracks, but other than that, it is awesome. We have the Captains chairs and love them.

Ours is "Pearl White" which was the only color available on the lot with the features we wanted (leather seats, tow package, rear view camera, no entertainment or navigation- that was what made it tough. We didn't want that stuff!)

I have my "My other vehicle is a monorail" sticker on the back which is sorta funny because it looks kinda like a Monorail!

I loved my traverse. The only reason we got rid of it was because I started working and wanted something more fuel efficient . My kids still ask of we can go get it back

We have an Acadia (GMC version of the Traverse) and love it, BUT we also had to replace the transmission at ~95,000 miles which is way early IMO. Oddly enough, the dealer was far & away the cheapest bid for that work. But when I called around, they all said the same thing - you lost 3rd, 5th, and reverse didn't you? So, it must be a fairly common repair. That said, bad transmission are a fairly common repair with Dodge minivans as well.

Edit: ours is a 2008 & we bought it new.

We really like our Traverse. It was bought brand new in 2011. The two cons I can think of are; it has had three recalls and not the most fuel efficient.

My parents have the Enclave, which is the Buick version, and they love it. I love it too. :-)

Their big complaint is that the rear door doesn't have a 3/4 setting so they can't open it in the garage, and there is no sunshade on the radio/GPS panel so it can be hard to see.

My co-worker and close friend has one, and I ride in it all the time. It is a nice vehicle. She loves it. In fact, she just traded her old one for a brand new one that is pretty much identical to what she had. She has 3 boys who do all kinds of sports. She had a mini-van before the Traverse and she says the Traverse is a huge improvement over the mini-van.

We drove a Traverse before we bought our Enclave. We liked the Traverse, just thought the Enclave rode a bit nicer. We LOVE our Enclave!

IIRC, the Enclave has a little softer suspension settings than the Traverse or Acadia. It's definitely meant to be the "plush" version of the 3 :)

Just bought our Enclave last month. Looked at all three and it was definitely the nicest.

and I didn't like them. I thought I would love the Enclave but didn't wow me...I fell in love with a Honda Pilot...trying to find one now. They were 2010 or 2011s that I drove. Can't wait to say goodbye to the minivan life [I've had 3].
