So,
I am so fed up with my side-be-side fridge that keeps giving me problems, I went out and bought a new French Door SS fridge.
I spent a lot of money and now I am nervous. There aren't many reviews on this fridge. I got a fantastic deal but I always get buyers remorse.
So tell me that you love your LG fridge.
Ice maker is really important to me and this has the slim one, on the door, so it doesn't take up any room in the fridge.

I have a Kenmore French door fridge, but it was made by LG and rebadged with the Kenmore name.

Mine is about 2 years old now, and I haven't had any problems. However, I will NEVER buy another French door fridge again. I hate the design. My next fridge will be a side-by-side model. The freezer is like a bottomless pit, and I lose everything in there. Thank goodness I have a deep freezer in the basement. The fridge doors themselves are a little tricky to close. I frequently find mine barely open and not sealed. There's an alarm, but it only goes off if the doors are open further.

All of that being said, the fridge works fine, and seems to be made very well. I just don't like the design of French door refrigerators.

i have had my LG French door frig for many years now. I think at least five. It is the best appliance I bought. It has the water and ice in the door and the freezer on the bottom. It has been fantastic! :thumbsup2

My sister and mother and I were just discussing how much more room my frig has than my sister's side by side. My sister loves my frig because with the french doors you can open up to put in a large tray of food, etc. This can't be done in a side by side.

My freezer also holds so much more than her side by side which are comparable in size. I had a side by side before this one and hated it! It had hardly any room in the freezer. I do not have a separate deep freezer, so I have to store everything in my frig/freezer and I pack a lot of stuff in it. :thumbsup2

I don't have an LG but a Samsung french door. I really like it especially the touch screen ice and water dispenser. Also the lock you can put on the dispenser when dd and friends just want to play with it.

I agree 100% with this post. I have the Samsung and LOVE the design. I won't go back to a side by side. I have way more space, and it's much more user friendly. We actually replaced a functional side by side not long after we moved in here because we loved our French door fridge at the house we sold (buyers wanted it).

I have the Samsung french door model as well, the one with the drawer between the refrigerator and the freezer. We love it; no problems in the 1 1/2 years since we bought it.

We just purchased an LG French Door Fridge this past summer and I must say that so far I Love it. There is so much more room in it and it's much easier to see everything. I wasn't to sure about the in door ice maker and water as our last on broke and was too expensive to fix but I'm happy that we went for the model that has it. the indoor ice make doesn't take up much room either. I hope you enjoy yours!

We got our LG about 8 or 9 years ago and no complaints from me. I love it!!!

We got our LG french door in June. So far, I love it. It has tons of room. I really like that we got the design that we can fill up a water pitcher from the dispenser and that the doors have an alarm on them. Now if the boys don't get the door all the way shut, we know it.

I have the LG Stainless Steel French Door refrigerator. I've had it for about 4 years. I do like it, I think the french door style is great for storing and finding things in the fridge. The ice maker is sometimes an issue with it, though. Once in a while, the ice maker freezes up and I have to empty the ice bin and turn off the icemaker so the ice frozen in the tray melts. I honestly think this is more because my kids sometimes leave the door slightly ajar than because there's something actually wrong with the icemaker.

About two years ago we had a problem where the switch on the light stayed on even while the door was closed and it made the light stay on (and cause the temperature inside the fridge to rise, ruining a bunch of food) and it melted the casing around the light. My fridge was out of warranty, and I was upset. I called LG and I found out it was a 'known issue'. :headache: but they sent a tech out (for free) and they replaced the light (again, for free) and we haven't had a problem since.

The biggest complaint I have about it is that it is stainless steel. I really hate the SS, it's so hard to keep clean.

Don't have a french door, but have an LG up/down (freezer on bottom) that we've had for a number of years now. Only issue is cosmetic. I had to take the handle off and use a thicker/longer screw. The constant pulling open of the door caused the lower part to come loose. Never pulled out, just started to show a gap. The other cosmetic issue is the "grill" cover on the very bottom. It tends to come out somewhat frequently. Just pushes back on so not a big deal.

Actual functionality of the fridge and freezer is great!

Thanks so much for all the responses. I am so looking forward to getting the fridge. It's just a lot of money. I am debating on getting the extended warranty or not. Just haven't had much luck with appliances.

They don't make 'em like they used to.

Please keep the opinions coming!:hippie:

We bought our LG French Door from The Home Depot and did purchase the extended warranty but it was reasonable in price so we found it worth it.

I have an LG french door with ice and water on the outside. I love it!!!! Love, love, love having the freezer on the bottom. Water and icemaker are great, no problems at all. Mine is a glossy black and it still looks just beautiful. Shelves are very easy to take out and clean. The ice maker has a bucket so you can pull the whole thing out and empty it into your ice bucket for parties. I don't have a single complaint.:thumbsup2

I have had mine for six years and do love it. However, I have had issues with the icemaker and the internal hardware. However, we are probably hard on frigs. LOL. It is as good as any I have every had though.

We have the same and have had it for three years and LOVE it!!

We have had a Samsung French door (with no external ice dispenser) for about 3.5 yrs now. Only issues we have had are with the ice maker. It catches on the drawer when you pull the freezer drawer open. We bought an extended warranty so we're covered. My parents bought a similar fridge, not exact model, just under 2 yrs ago and have had nothing but problems. They didn't get an extended warranty and it finally broke completely (stopped cooling). They are replacing with a whole new fridge. They were not happy and Samsung wouldn't do anything to help since it was past the manuf. warranty. :furious:

I hate to say this but I HATE Mine! It makes about 20 cubes of ice and that is it. It is the worst ice maker we've ever had.

Well, it was delivered yesterday. Wow. It's gorgeous. I just hope it works well. What a delight to see everything in the fridge and so spacious!
Just have to organize the freezer better.
