I'm thinking about getting one. Is it worth it? Pros & Cons? Thanks!!!!

LOVE mine.
Just wish I would have waited for the 2nd gen. It has an USB port.....

Love, love, love it! It's basically become an extension of my body, LOL.

My sister gave me one for my birthday last year, and my first thought was "I have an iTouch...what do I need this for?"

Turns out, I had no idea what I was missing!

Over the past year, I've spent many, many hours in waiting rooms (doctors, hospitals), and this gadget has been a godsend. I've always used fairly large handbags/totes, so it's no problem to carry it with me.

I use it for:

~ Accessing the internet...for DISing, Facebook, email, etc. (through WiFi, not 4G - but WiFi is everywhere these days, so it's rare when I'm not able to connect)
~ Books
~ Music
~ Games
~ Photos
~ Movies and TV shows...downloaded from iTunes and streaming via Netflix
~ Vacation planning...I upload my touring plans, flight and hotel info, ADRs

In short, it's pretty much the most amazing thing EVER!

Love it. :love:I take it everywhere. Trying to integrate it with my daily work routine

To PP i have gen 2. And there's no USB port

I wholeheartedly agree! The Ipad is the best tech purchase I have ever made. I too had an Itouch and when DH suggested the Ipad, I thought why on earth do I need that. I am SO glad he made the suggestion. I have the Nook app and read my books on it. I have a TON of really fun games that keep me busy during wait times, as mentioned above. I watch videos and movies, and I too have all of my vacation planning things on it! I LOVE IT! You won't regret your purchase, I assure you!

I bought a Viewsonic Gtablet a couple of weeks ago and can't really see the difference between it and an Ipad. Same functionality and availability of apps for half the price of an Ipad. $280 shipped from Amazon. Camera and USB port come standard.

The iPad 2 doesn't have a USB port. There is an adapter you can buy that will let you plug in a usb device, but only some devices are supported. FWIW, the adapter will work on the original iPad as well.

Good to know this. It kept telling me to connect to a PC to get upgrades. I think that is kind of wierd, why can't I just get upgrades from the system.

The IPad doesn't support Flash-so I need to get a different e-mail account in HotMail-my old one gets to much SPAM.

I managed to move to fast and I locked it up. I only needed to turn it on/off and it came back on. I also think it is wierd that you don't need a Virus Scan Software.

Forgot to mention, the Gtablet (Android Google OS) supports Flash.

I just turned a free one down. Got an aware at work, choice of I-Pad 2 or $500, I took the money. My wife's best friend has one, they are nice, but we already have a couple of laptops, and a netbook that do the same basic thing.
