How do you like priceline or hotwire for car rentals

i am thinking of using hotwire or priceline to rent a car, but I was wondering if all the companies they use are right in the airport or not. Has anyone done this and had either a good or bad experience?

I used Hotwire last year as the car rentals for late June in 2009 were expensive. I accepted the price and my company came up Hertz.

Hertz is off-site but the shuttle came quickly.

The only thing to remember is the gas station near Hertz charges almost a dollar more than other places so I drove a mile down to a "normal" priced gas station.

Hertz maybe ONSITE now since the upgrading seems to done

will check FOR SURE tomorrow when we return our national rental........

I used priceline (the name your own feature) and got Avis. We've done it a few times in different places and it's always been fine. Sometimes you will get a place that is located off-site, but the shuttles seems to come quickly at Orlando.

I was pricing out rentals for our upcoming trip yesterday, and even with "stacking" discounts with National, I came up MUCH better (like $50 better!) with priceline. I think that's what we'll be doing.

We have always gotten an on-site company when we have used Priceline. We have also gotten much better rates through Priceline than we have going the conventional route.
