Just to see his face light up so many times and to see him having such a good time is worth it.

Anyone will tell you the traffic down the M61/M60 is very bad even early in the morning, I work in Cheadle so I know - setting off at 07:00 for example you run the risk of traffic hold ups which is the last thing we need.
With Joshua's needs we do more planning for the build up to the holiday than we do when we get out to Florida.
carolfoy said:Exactly, Johnny the ONLY reason to go through such a ghastly travel time is to see the faces of the people you love when they get there
Ali and boyz said:can synpathise with you Johnny. for a 12.30 dep we still have to get up early for DS.
04.30 - get up - take full 2 hrs to get DS ready (loads of medical issues)
08.00 - taxi to airport (want to get there in plenty of time to organise seats etc)
17.00 - arrive Sanford
19.30 - 20.00 arrive at hotel (have to collect special adapted car enroute)
then get DS in to bed and one of us goes out for bread milk etc.
24.00 - fall into bed.
we know we have hit flordia when we feel the heat in the tunned going from the plane to the terminal building![]()

basas said:I know what you mean. We often fly out of MSP (Minneapolis-St.Paul) which is about an 8 hours drive south of here. In August, we already were nervous about making the flight because we had left with just enough time. The traffic on I-94 was absolutely horrendous coming into the Twin Cities (was rush hour, and the weekend so people were just pouring out)...fortunately, the worst traffic was on the other side (coming out) and the traffic must have been dead stopped for nearly 20 miles outbound. Even the gas station we stopped out right outside was packed and took 30 mins to navigate in, get gas, and get back on the freeway. We did hit the traffic once we got onto the beltway and things were looking pretty bad. Fortunately, the flight was delayed nearly 3 hours so we lucked out! Only bad part...arrived at MCO at nearly 2:00am!
JohnnySharp2 said:Yes, it's all part of the planning I guess - but ot is something that os difficult to plan - frustrating isn't it.
At least there is an enjoyable holiday at the end of it all, makes it all worth it.
basas said:Yep- even though we didn't get to sleep at the house until 3:00am, we were up and ready the next day for MGM!
