How do you know when you've been "Flagged"

Hey all!

Thanks for continuing to provide great content, and a place for people to share their love of, and experiences at, Disney.

You occasionally refer to your experiences, and note if you have been "flagged" or "not flagged". I understand that this denotes when you have been noticed as a travel agent or reviewer. However, other than someone giving you a wink or nod when using your names; I am wondering how you know.

Is there a notation on your reservation or bill that tips you off? As we have a daughter with a food allergy, I am curious if this would qualify as well, and how we could check docs to see that she was properly flagged.

TIA for any details!

For food allergies, the “flagging” occurs when you make the ADR and notate the allergy. When you check in, the ticket given to the seater should say - or be stamped, or varies - “Allergy”. And your server should ask about it.

For counter service you have to ask for the allergy menu.

I experienced a new thing this week - I have a shrimp allergy so sometimes I note my allergy and sometimes I don't, depending on the ADR and what's on that menu. With the new mobile check-in process for ADRs, my shellfish allergy was auto-populated for a restaurant I didn't note it.

It's convenient, but I'd definitely double-check when you do the mobile check-in. Not sure how reliable it is.

Edited to add, this was only for ADRs, not counter service.

ha... I thought you might be asking about being flagged as a chronic complainer...

But yes, if you are dealing with allergies, make certain every restaurant is aware of it and don't count on automation.

Yes, I have only ever heard of people being flagged if there are enough complaints (mostly about little nit-picky things and/or demanding ridiculous compensation) in their file.

This is a very interesting sidebar.

I wonder if you can get "flagged" for being helpful, or positive stuff like that. If I was Disney, I would market heavily to guests with a history of giving positive feedback or who other guests noted as positive influences on their experience. In the world of data collection, who wouldn't want to fill their business with customers that like their business?

Once upon a time you might have been. Now you have to be an "influencer" with a huge social media presence. They are flagged and regularly invited to all the special things in exchange for an "unbiased" view.

Spoiler alert: I have yet to see an "influencer" review a hosted event or meal (where they are the guests of the company) that had anything negative to say. At least they now have to reveal that they were hosted for the event/meal. At first they didn't so their reviews looked 100% genuine.
