How do you keep warm

Not even winter and I feel like I am going to freeze to add in the house as well dh likes to keep it cold.

Smartwool socks have made winter waaayyyyy more bearable. If my toes are warm, I feel warmer all over.

I hate socks in the house so I have a pair of fuzzy crocs that keep my feet warm, flannel pj bottoms and a teeshirt, if I'm really chilly a old hoodie thrown over that. Though I DH and I are weird we like it cold in the house and bundling up. Also if you move around you warm up a lot quicker then sitting watching tv or whatever. Thats one thing I do not miss from Maine is starting shoveling and its freezing but half way through your sweating so I always ended up in a teeshirt and my jacket open.

Electric blanket! Nothing warmer than that! And feels good on the muscles, too (like a heating pad, almost). They make electric throw blankets, too, but I like to wrap myself up in my queen-size one.

I also love big fuzzy socks, and always have hoodies around the house to put on :goodvibes

That transition time between summer and fall when there are a few days that its cold outside, I use the heating pad to warm me up. Then I am good to go.

I bought a GREAT robe from LL Bean. It's a sweatshirt robe---sweatshirt material, but bathrobe style so longer length and with a tie belt. It's wonderful! It is in the men's section so mine is a light grey color. They may have "prettier" woman's version now, but I love mine and would buy it again if it wears out.

We use throw blankets to keep warm while sitting on our couches, reading or watching TV.

Extra layers of clothing keep the people warm who get cold easily (me and DD).

In fall-spring, I wear slippers in the house all the time...also, sweaters and layers are my norm in winter, flannel pajamas and a Warm fleece robe at night always..... I've found investing in GOOD quality clothing to keep warm is worth it for me- no cheap stuff,it just doesn't work for me. I buy ONLY Smartwool socks (clearance prices at Sierra Trading Post) Not exaggerating, they're all I wear from October- March on my feet
GOOD quality coat and gloves is a must, Lands End makes excellent stuff, and they have sales, again,my gloves are Smartwool brand and I collect pretty scarves to wear with everything....
GOOD boots and shoes.... things that are warm and waterproof, not necessarily high fashion is key for me. I have Keen Sneakers and mid-calf boots (lined with fleece) that are the best, and super comfortable.(and pink!)
So I already bought my slippers for this season at TJ Maxx...they're super soft and comfortable! I buy a new pair yearly, since I wear them out over the winter...:cool1:

oh,yeah, also the throw blankets for the couch are a must.... when it's 0 degrees outside with a howling wind,we need our blankets! Of course, a couple of weeks ago we were tent camping, and it hit 48 degrees overnight, and I hadn't thought to bring my smartwool socks with me! (it was August for heavens sake!;)) I can't say enough wonderful things about that brand.... except I always buy a size larger than I think I need.....

Eat iron-rich foods to bring up your red blood cell count.

Keep your core warm - t-shirt or camisole under your clothes, or insulated underwear.

Loose clothing over the undergarments will trap air - avoid skintight sweaters and pants.

Natural fibers will be more insulating than synthetics.

Throw blankets, as many have suggested.

Desperate times - Keep your head warm - wear your hair a little longer or thicker, or wear a cap.

My relative has fibromyalgia, and she also thinks it is made worse by the cold weather.

Wow very good advice

For me, layers of fleece (the polartec kind not sweatshirt) are a miracle. A snug fleece crew (Lands End) followed by a quarter zip or hoodie - then if it's really cold, I have a couple of XL layers to top it off with...sounds crazy, but it is the one thing that keeps me warm while the heat is kept low. We are also huge fans of microfleece sheets! So cozy!

If your husband has the air conditioning on so that you are too cold, the simple solution is to adjust the a/c to run a little bit less. A little compromise is a good thing. Aren't you in Florida? It's still summer, so being too cold is just silly. It's not like you are in Vermont in the dead of January ;) Of course instead of running the A/C less, you could just give hubby 'that look' and tell him that you need him to warm you up. ;)

I love a cold house! I need the house to be cold enough that I can be snuggled under a blanket. I also love warm fuzzy socks

I have an electric throw blanket that I use on the sofa in the evenings, and then take to bed with me at night.

CUDDLE DUDS!!!! You can find them at Younkers, Macy,s, JC Penny's. Ultra thin tops and bottoms. Put these on first and then you can layer. I am in mine all winter when I am home. I wear mine around the house. They even have knot ones and I believe light flannel. Just google them. Will change your life and they wont weigh you down.
