How do you keep the secret?

We just returned from our trip that we surprised DS 15 with the day before we left. We had his magic band and a new shirt sitting on his bed for him to find when he came home from school. He was like "What's this for?" and then "When are we going?" "This summer?" He was in shock when I told him "tomorrow!"

I am always on here and other sites just reading about Disney stuff, so he didn't suspect anything, but I did make sure I wasn't planning when he was around. He doesn't really pay attention to the mail, but we get Disney stuff throughout the year anyway, so no suspecting there. We just had to be careful to intercept the magic bands before he saw them. When the ones older DS and his girlfriend had sent to the house arrived in Dec., he knew exactly what they were. I did almost all of the planning and DH and older DS just had to keep their mouths shut! I guess we pulled it off.

When the boys were younger DH and I surprised them at Christmas that we were going for New Year's week and they loved that. It was harder keeping it a secret then from both of them.

Next year will be my wife and daughter's (11) first time. My wife knows about the trip obviously, but we're hoping to keep it a secret until we land in Orlando and get to the ME stop. If that's not possible, we're hoping to at least keep it quiet until we get to the airport lounge. I think I could spin a good story as to why the screen says "orlando" instead of ... wherever else. But that may be as far as we get

We're planning to pull the airport trick, too. I doubt we can keep it a secret until we get to Orland but my story (so far, at least) is going to be that we're going to the airport to watch the planes and maybe, if they're good, we'll even stay and have lunch.
