How do you hang your clothes?

I have a pretty big closet, but most of the space is shelves or double racked (2 levels) of hanging. I have a much smaller space to hang long pants, skirts and dresses. Do any of you hang your pants doubled? I am worried about increasing wrinkles as when I hang them from the bottom it tend to pull the wrinkles out and I have less ironing.

Suggestions?

I hang most of my clothes because of limited drawer space. I do hang my pants doubled over, but I only one a couple pairs of dress pants. I wear jeans to work, so it really isnt an issue. I also hang most of my kids clothes, again due to limited drawer space. I should say, I hang most of the shirts/ tops, but pants are folded on a shelf.

(When I actually get the laundry done and put away. :lol)

I usually throw two pairs of pants over a hanger. Hangers are pretty big mine only overlap a little bit!

You guys should try to live in England. There are little or no closets in houses. It really makes you keep the bare minimum in clothes.

Have you tries those hangers that are like clips or wooden ones that sort of snap together. I think that these minimize space in small areas, trust me I know.

I always fold mine over, never seen any major wrinkles from that. My mom always did too, and she always had dressy pants and she NEVER ironed pants. Dresses and skirts are the only things I let hang long. OH-At Bed, Bath, and Beyond (I'm sure other places have them, too) I bought a hanger for pants, where it had 5 slots for them, and you slid them over the side. Those take up less room, too.

I need to look for those multiple spaces on one hanger thingy, of course I probably should pare down the wardrobe as well, but....

At Bed, Bath, and Beyond (I'm sure other places have them, too) I bought a hanger for pants, where it had 5 slots for them, and you slid them over the side. Those take up less room, too.

YUP, I have those in my DS' rooms and in DH's closet. My guys love wearing those Dockers. They have many many pairs..besides dress slacks..and I bought those 5 pant hangers and they are great. Takes up less room as well. Makes the closet very organized. Jeans: my guys fold and stack on the shelf above their hanging clothes. I also have belt and tie hangers in the closets and on one of our closets (one room is quite large) we opted to put in TWO bars the length of the closet. This allows allot more items to be hung. I also just finished completely doing all my closets over with those HUGGABLE HANGERS so the DS' can hang sweaters etc and they do not get those "nipples" on the shoulders. I started about 3 years ago buying the HUGGABLES and now I am all caught up and done.

I prefer hanging to folding because I can see all the items hung (easier to choose). As for my pants - they are all hung from the waist. I do not double because of the wrinkle line.

Do you mean putting the pants over the hanger so the hem and the waist meet? If that's the case that's what DH and I do. I've never thought of hanging them full length by the hem. If your put them over the hanger carefully it doesn't increase the wrinkles at all.
