ARRGH...As I am sitting here at work, I wonder why I do it? Why, why, why? DD8 had her best friend sleep over last night, I agreed. I told them both (quite smart girlies) that this would happen ONLY if they were quiet, and if and when they got up at 6am, to keep it down. They had the whole basement, fridge, bathroom, bedrooms, tv, sofa, 3 computers, etc...I explained that DH is working 2 jobs, I am working a lot also, we both work today, blah blah..

Well, they got up around 6:15, and they played GOD knows what:rolleyes: and sounded like 20 girls were downstairs. I must have come to the top of the stairs 10x demanding they be quiet.

Now I know how kids get, excited, hyper, etc..But I think they are old enough to know better.

I work weekends, and this is tough, I know..I guess why most parents don't do sleepovers during the week, when they work..

When I get home tonight, I will sit down with DD and explain gently, there are NO more sleepovers for a long time. Unless I have a day off..

Do you all do the sleepover thing?
Sorry for the length, just tired and venting:guilty:

Sleepovers were never a problem for me - as long as it was just my kid and one other one.

Add anymore into the mix and it's a recipe for disaster. Someone gets left out, someone ends up fighting or crying or both.

Little girls are demons.;)

my boys best friends are twins and triplets. Talk about having a hard time leaving anyone out! But, they know no sleepovers at my house unless I have the day off the next day and everyone goes home by 10 a.m.

Their favorite thing to do is write on every piece of paper in the house and leave in laying around all over the place, then 27 1/2 empty soda cans...well you get the picture. I need a day to clean up.

try to avoid having them if I can! I hate them and I hate DD going to them.

The last time she had a friend spend the night, DD was asleep and I caught her friend calling boys at 1am. I later found out that she does this quite often at other peoples homes and has been banned from several houses for that and also for using other peoples computers for setting up MYSPACE pages that her parents don't allow.

My DD 7 has had several sleepovers. We allow her to have one friend at a time. Three is a crowd and four are too any at one time. It's hard becasue my other daughter is just a year younger and always wants to hang around them. We have learned to send her to my moms to have her own fun.

Both DH and I do not have to work weekends so it doesn't matter what time they go to bed. I try to tire them out by playing games with them, playing spa, painting their toe nails and face masks. I try to get them in her room for 8:00 and have them watch TV, play dress up, American Girl dolls or computer games. THey are always loud and I constantly ask them to keep it down. They don't. As much as i try to get them to go to sleep, they don't until 11 or so/ They want to have fun and as long as they aren't running around the house or causing havoc, i dont usually mind too much. THey will usually get up around 7 and are tired for the next day/ The other parents know how the sleepovers are as when she sleeps at their houses, it's the same their too.

As they say "boys will be boys".
Well it's also true for girls because "girls will be girls".

You must know my niece.

14, she looks 21 unfortunately. She was caught on my space selling topless photos of herself, She had had a paypal "donation" link setup on her site.

My brother went crazy on that one.

If you lived closer, I would bet money it was the same kid! Last week she got in trouble for making out at church in the balcony during the service!

Our 8 yr old LOVES sleepovers. How do I handle them? With aspirin and a rum and coke!! Besides that, I tell them they have to be in bed by 10 (not asleep, just in bed). If they want to wake up early, no prob, knock yourselves out, but stay in the bedroom. Our daughter is pretty good about keeping quiet. Her friends have been here so many times, that they've gotten better about it too. We have an 18 mth old too, so last year, I was hating life. Dd hadn't had that many sleepovers, so I was still trying to figure out some ground rules, combined with a baby, AGGHH!! The irony is she's such an easy kid, I don't even get excited when she stays over at someone else's house.

I absolutely love sleepovers, as long as they are at the other kids house!!!
My DH works on Saturdays so yes it is a major inconvience, I know it's a part of growing up, but man why do they call em sleep overs when NOBODY gets any sleep????
