How do you handle moving sidewalk attractions?

I need a walker to get around nowadays and the past few trips I have had to pass up many of our favorite attractions because of worrying about me falling on the ones with the moving sidewalks. It makes my autistic husband very upset and I was wondering if I am missing out on a hint on how to do them safely?

I just pretty much need a hand when getting on or off but am not comfortable with having to shut the ride down for me.

Thank you for any advice.

They slow the ride way down. Don't be afraid to ask, it's not like no one ever has before you. Every time we ride Spaceship Earth, it stops. I just hink "Someone needs to get on or off and can't use the walkway". Don't worry about it, use what you need to.

Most but not all of the moving walkways can be slowed or stopped. The ones that definitly can't is Peter Pan (unless very first thing in morning or late in the night) and People mover. Most others can be slowed or stopped if you need to. Do Not be afraid to ask for it.

Check on page 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. You will find a list of attractions with moving walkways.
