How do you handle Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner when staying Offsite?

Publix also has very good freshly made fried chicken in the Deli department. Had that for dinner the other night. Picked up a 16 piece and two adults had it for dinner Tuesday and Thursday night, and there's still some left. 16 pc. is $12.99 and will easily feed six-eight people if you add in a couple pints of salads. It's MUCH better than KFC.

this places - timeshares, villa, condo, houses - are clean and actually fun.

You might enjoy cooking for a change.

I was going to say that yesterday, and thought people might look at me funny. LOL. I don't mind doing some light cooking on vacation. :rolleyes1 the kitchens in the condos we've stayed in are very nice, well laid out, and there doesn't seem to be as much mess as I'd make at home. LOL.

We eat breakfast in the condo most days, but we splurge on a breakfast buffet once or twice. We usually eat lunch in the parks, and then get an inexpensive dinner offsite. The days we are "park commandos"-there from opening until closing-we eat 2 meals in the parks, but usually the cheapest food we can find. :) We don't eat a lot when we're really hot, so we sometimes share a dinner. There are only 2 of us, though, so eating out on vacation isn't as big a budget item as it is for larger families.

If you have a kitchenette in full kitchen than I would absolutely plan of making a few meals there. This alone will save you a ton of $$$$ in our out of the world.

You obvioulsy don't want to deny yourselves or the kids of higher profile character meals such as CM & CP or the occasional sit down meal.

We bring pop tarts or other little breakfast snacks to eat in the room before we head out to the park!

We tend to prepare all of our meals, that is one of the reasons we rent a condo or house. Breakfast is a fruit salad, bagels, and light cream cheese. Lunch is whole wheat subs with deli turkey, ham or roast beef with pasta salad or coleslaw. We also pack this in disposable food containers in a backpack with frozen water bottles when we visit the parks, due to food allergies. Security usually is super nice, when they check our bags and have even suggested refrigerating our food to keep it cold at the first aid station. WDW is very understanding about food allergies and I have never even been asked to show my medic alert bracelet. DH loves to cook so we usually return to the condo, have a great supper, Home made spaghetti, tacos, chicken fahitas, chicken or beef with salads I prepare the day we arrive. This way, we can eat supper and enjoy a lovely drink on our balcony and not have to worry about traffic! P.S. Our friends love to travel with us, as they say this method of relaxing dining beats the lineups and restaurant noise. As a special treat, we may go out for Flippers Pizza at Old Town!:thumbsup2

If you drive to disney you can haul a cooler just for meat that isn't opened till you get to your rental. This allows you to cook your chicken, hamburger, sausage etc before leaving home. If everything that goes in the cooler is already frozen that cuts down on the need for so much ice as well.

hamburger you got tacos, sloppy joes, casseroles etc the list is endless.

diced chicken you got tacos, salad, casseroles etc again the list is almost endless.

sausage patties makes for an almost instant breakfast

I have fried pancakes before leaving home an heated them in toaster for breakfast.

Crock pot meals work really well for suppers throw in a bagged salad and maybe some rolls or biscuits you got a complete meal.

We just returned with another family and stayed offsite. FWIW, we always stay offsite. Just prefer more options and a break from the disney music 24/7.

Breakfasts are either bowls of cereal and fruit if we're in a timeshare. If we're in a small hotel room, we'll bring some protein bars from home and hit Publix once we arrive for some bagels and fruit.

Lunches for us are usually CS at whatever park we're in that day.

Our park days always involve going back to the hotel/timeshare for a shower, some relaxation and a just general "recharge." 90 percent of the time, we'll head back to one of the hotels (WDW or USO) for dinner, and we also really enjoy the restaurants at Citywalk. We've dined a couple times for dinner at DTD and won't return there for dinner. Okay for lunch, but we weren't impressed with the dinners. We're also big into our crockpot if we're staying at a timeshare. Pork tenderloins are perfect and so versatile. Plop one in the crockpot in the morning, add some beer and whatever spices you like, you've got dinner. Shred up the leftovers and add some barbeque sauce, you've got dinner the next night, too.

I never eat at a place that charges for parking. we are generally at a WDW theme parks if I eat there. eat more at the restuarants at the resort.

Parking is free at Citywalk after 6:00pm.

even when the parks are open until 9pm?

Unless something has changed very recently, yes, parking is free after six.

FWIW, I wouldn't -- and never have -- pay to park to eat dinner either.
