How do you get to Trail's end buffet at FW?

We will be staying at WL and were thinking that the Trail's end buffet might be a good choice for our arrival day dinner. Can we walk there from the WL or would we be better off taking the boat ride over? Do you think that is a good plan for arrival day? We should be at our resort about 1-1:30pm and thought we would spend some time at the pool and then go over to FW to let the kids play. Thanks for any advice in advance!

To get from WL to FW you have 3 options

1. Walk, the path is about 1 mile and shaded, however it is not lit, so not recommended after dark.

2. Boat, before 3pm the boat runs, FW, WL, CR, FW after 3pm FW, CR, WL, FW.

3. Bus, there is a bus that runs regularly between FW and WL, from WL the next stop in FW is the stop for Trails End.

The distance from the dock to TE is almost the same as the distance from the bus depot to TE.

Yup-er-eee, we always take the boat, nice ride to get into the Disney spirit. Trail's End, our favorite place, breakfast and dinner are fantastic, lunch is so-so. We also go down stairs for pizza and pitchers of beer in the evenings. It's got some of the best American buffet on property at a good price, enjoy.

Thanks for the advice. I did not realize there was a bus that ran between the resorts. The boat ride might be fun for the kids though. Either way it sounds like fun.

Don't forget it is one of the cheapest make that the cheapest place to eat at Disney. $10 per person for the buffet is what we paid 2 years ago and I think it is still that cheap!. To walk off that big meal walk around the campground and look at the horses.
