How do you get to the Hoopdeedoo?

We are finally going to do the Hoopdeedoo during our October trip after years of saying "we'll get to it next time". We will be staying off-site, though, and wondered the best way to get there. I remember going over to FW on the boat from the Contemporary when we stayed there - would it be worth it to park over there and take the boat?

You can park at Fort Wilderness and take an internal bus to the Hoop-de-doo. Fort Wilderness is HUGE and the parking is at one end of the campground and the HDD is at the other.

If you want to take the boat ride, the ride for CR to FW is really nice. However, I think it would take longer to get there.

I haven't done the Hoop, but from everything I have read, it is easier to take the boat from the Contemporary. It sounds like the bus within FW is very confusing and not clearly laid out. We stayed at the CR in March and took the boat to the Wilderness Lodge twice- the boat's first stop is at FW, and Pioneer Hall looks like it's just right down the boat dock. The boat ride from the CR to FW was maybe 10 minutes? I would recommend you park at the CR and take the boat.

You can also park at WL and take a boat, bus, or walk.

At the Fort Wilderness Resort parking area on Vista Blvd., all of the buses which have a route named by a color will go to the Settlement area (where Pioneer Hall is located). These buses will go to several stops along the way, but there are several buses and routes, so the wait time for a bus is very short.

Do the boats run in the rain? What time is the last boat?

I know they run in the rain, as it was raining when we went to WL. I don't know when the last boat is....probably sometime after the last Hoop show.
