We usually take a limo, since the 6 of us cannot squeeze into a car with all of our luggage...but there has to be a cheaper option for us (even though the kids get a kick out of riding in one.)
I had to say "other", because we have our own car and drive, but we do not park at the airport. Since our closest US airport is 3 hours away, we do a park and fly at a neighbouring hotel. Then we are transported to and from the hotel (which is 2 minutes from the airport) by shuttle.
I drive to an offsite parking area which then provides a shuttle to the airport, so I also said other. I can't think of a cheaper way you could do it since you say that you can't fit 6 people and all their luggage in one vehicle. The only thing I can think of is getting one of those rooftop luggage carriers.
I said "other". Sometimes we drive ourselves and park at the local airport, sometimes we take a cab, sometimes we have a friend give us a ride, sometimes we drive to a farther airport and park, sometimes we drive to a father airport and do a park and stay and take the airport shuttle.
Can you drive yourself and park near the airport? You can price out two taxis or some kind of van Call around. Your local tax company might have access to a van or SUV that will work and cost a little less then the limo.
I put other. Depends on the flight time and day of the week. We are 20 minutes from the airport. On weekends someone will drop us off. During the week if flight times are before 9am and after 5pm someone will drop us inbetween those hours we would drive ourselves.
I voted Other. We either drive ourselves, or we have a family member drop us off. If there is a lot of us, we take my sister's suv. It holds only enough luggage for us to handle. If it didn't fit it the car, we couldn't handle it at the airport anyway.
When it is just DH and I we drive to New Orleans airport, in Orlando Tiffany Towncars always picks us up and takes us back. We use a town car when it is just us. When we bring parents it is a van we get from them. I think it is a nine passenger van and has plenty of room for five adults including driver. And DH, BIL and I are all pooh sized. I think the round trip with a van is $125 and they have a website. We always get a free 30 minute stop, too for goodies (i.e. honey). They are the only towncar company we have ever used.
I don't know how much luggage you have, but when we had a smaller car and 4 of us and 2 strollers we had a car top carrier. We have a crossover now and less stuff to bring so we don't use it anymore. It may be cheaper to invest in the car top.
I fly to WDW several times a year. My husband is not as big a Disney fan as I am, so will only go down there once or twice a year (thank goodness he encourages my solo trips though). Any way, if it's a solo trip he drops me off at the airport. If it's a trip where we are both going, we usually use the Park & Fly that's right next to the airport (or sometimes one of our son's drops us off). So it just depends.
Other - We fly out of Logan and either take the boat or the shuttle bus. Cost is $12 but kids 12 and under a free. Someone just drops us off at the shuttle; much less stressful than driving in (or making some poor person drive in) and cheaper, too.
Usually we get a ride from someone, but if no one is available we take a cab. We live less than a half hour from either Chicago airport so flat rate taxis aren't bad.
We drive and park. With a coupon a week isn't much over 50. Last time we were staying almost 2 weeks so we did park and fly at the Buffalo airport and our room and parking cost us 102. It was nice because we had a very early flight and want to worry about crossing the border in the morning so we went the night before and took the hotel shuttle to the airport.
