How do you get pins?

I'm new to the board but have been to Disney several times. I am taking my two year old on her first trip in February with both sets of grandparents. I was wondering how to get these "pins" that everyone is speaking of. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, there is no rhyme or reason as to who gets pin codes and who doesn't. The only thing you can do is make sure Disney has your email and mailing address, order a vacation DVD, and maybe price out vacations on the website and save them. You can also call and ask if there is a pin attached to your name as sometimes people have pins that way, but never get notified through mail or email. Other than that, there really isn't anything more you can do since pins are randomly sent out and there's no guaranteed way to receive them.

If you're in the Disney system, they can be sent to you at random through the mail or emailed to you. Some people have had luck going under Disney reservations and pricing out vacations and saving them for later. I got a free Quick Service dining plan offer back in Jan. that I could use anytime at any Disney resort for 2012. Which we were able to make a reservation for mid Oct. In Jan. I had actually made reservations for May and had paid the $200.00 deposit. I ended up canceling due to something coming up. By the end of Jan., which was about 2 weeks after I had cancelled, I recieved the QS dining offer.
