Not sure if this is the correct forum for this but it's my favourite, so I shall post it here :)

Basically the question is in the title! Usually I get over it by booking another trip but my OH left his job and set up his own business just before we left for WDW last month so rebooking is out of the picture until things begin to fall into place. Any techniques that people have? I miss it so much! haha

Well - like you said - I would usually begin to plan my next trip, but I can understand that's not in the picture for you right now, as it has not been for me for awhile. So - since you just got engaged - how about planning the wedding, or maybe where you all are going to live, or something like that? Or can you maybe help your fiance with his new business or something? Or I've also found that doing something for others usually cheers me up, or to cheer somebody else up. Sounds corny, but really works! And hanging out here with us should put a small bit of a smile on your face, no? :)

I started throwing myself into the wedding planning today Heidi and it does seem to be working a treat :D. We decided that we are going to get married at WDW and just decided that we are aiming for a 2018 date! Not to long really and I'm hoping things work out with his business (i'm sure they will) so that it can become a reality, He is off to sleep now but I can see the Disney Wedding website getting a LOT of traffic tonight haha. Maybe a case of throwing myself into The Dis too haha!

Enjoy all of the content the DIS has to offer and realize you haven't seen and done anything in relation to what's available at WDW.

I'm part of some FB groups and that helps aid in the Post Disney Depression! It's fun to help others plan their trips, answer some questions, and see their pictures from their trips.

Boozy trip planning sounds like a win to me.

Also here helps, though I get jealous from time to time because some one is always just about to go or there.

Planning a future trip helps, as well as watching vlogs and looking for the little things I always miss. Little splurges on Disney type things help too.

We made a game of finding the pizza closest to Via Napoli (it is Sam's in Wildwood NJ) and trying Disney food recipes like tonga toast at home. Also wine nights, where you have a few people over and have everyone bring a bottle to create your own wine flight like in Epcot.

If you are a planner like me, plan a virtual trip. This can help for when you are planning a real trip.

Google Earth or maps is a strange hobby of mine; I will look at the property from a satellite view and plan based on that. Now I know that once the HS expansion is done the walk to the back of the park from AoA would be the same as BW, they just need to put in a pathway.

For me the last time it was right after the trip and the dead of winter as well, so I got a bunch of guide books from the library. Read, read, read....

ETA - And Sean, I know I don't know you, but congratulations!!

I think I look at WDW on google maps at least a couple of times a day - always trying to see how things fit in and see some of the ways things are set up ...

.. was the first time I noticed that the tunnel you go through on the train in Adventureland is just to block your view of the Pirates Show building which is on the other side of the tracks and the tunnel is roughly where when on the ride you go under the tracks

I also like writing up trip reports from last trips and then planning next reports

Usually works like: Plan for the annual once-in-a-lifetime trip for 6+months, go on said trip, then write up trip report from that trip, then start planning the next trip

Voting on which are the best songs or queues, etc also helps I think!

Trip reporting sometimes helps (sometimes it makes it worse). Same with reading about other people's trips. Sometimes it makes my post disney blues go away and sometimes it makes it worse.

One thing I'll do from time to time is plan a 'if I won the lottery trip'. I plan out what my ideal dates would be, where I'd want to stay, what restaurants I'd want to do, tours I'd be interested in, etc., if money were no object. That can help.

Also, I'll watch vlogs on Youtube to see how other people do their trips if I'm not feeling like reading. I'll admit some people do things in ways that irk me enough that it makes me be like 'if you're going to feed all the birds you see you shouldn't even be at Disney!' and that helps make me annoyed instead of sad :P

haha, yeah, one other way to avoid the Disney Blues is to "correct" any of your friends and family who have trips coming up and they undoubtedly will be planning things wrong ;)

I start to get those blues 2 nights before I leave and i always say I should of made it for a few more days, but when I get home I try to start thinking about how to make the next trip better, such as I will make my ADR only in the park that im going that day , wont get a park hopper save some money because you can spend the whole day in one park
