How do you get from the airport to your hotel?

Dumb question probably, but I have only flown a very limited amount and this time we're flying. What is your preferred method to get to your hotel? We will be staying offsite.

We use Uber or Lyft. Its really quick and a pretty good price ~$20 from SNA to a hotel near DLR. If you have small children with car seats this may be an issue.

We rent a car but only because my BIL is an exec at Enterprise and gets us a great deal but if he didn't we'd probably just do uber.

Nope just us this time. I've never tried uber or lyft but I was considering giving it a go
I prefer Lyft since you can tip through the app, but we have not had any issues with either. Drivers can be hit or miss with how much they talk -- some are very friendly/talkative, while others say nothing. We've only had to wait about 5 minutes or so for a pickup from SNA.

We take Uber from SNA. We bring our kids carseats with us so they have seats. You can now tip through the Uber app as well - so happy about that change!

In the past we'd take a shuttle but since I discovered Lyft and Uber that's how we get around now.

You can tip through the app with uber too.
Is this new? Tipping through the app didn't used to be an option with Uber. That's great if it is!!

That's awesome you can tip through the app now!!! Thanks for the info!

Here the FAQ from Uber's website on tipping via the app (I can't believe it took them so long!)

Can I tip my driver with the app?
You are free to tip and drivers are free to accept.

You can tip your driver at the end of your trip through the app. When prompted to provide a rating, first select a rating for your driver and then you will be given the option to add a tip as well.

You may also tip on a past trip through the app, on riders.uber.com, and from your emailed trip receipt.

To tip on a past trip from the app or riders.uber.com, select the trip from your trip history, and click "Add a tip"

From your trip emailed to you, click "Add a tip"

After a trip has ended, you have 30 days to add a tip in the app, on riders.uber.com, and from your emailed trip receipt. You can also give cash to your driver instead.

Note that on Split Fare trips, only the rider who originally requested the trip will be able to select the tip amount for a trip. If a tip is added by the original requester, it will not be split with the other passengers.

Uber takes zero service fees on tips.

This is great, thanks for the info. It's about time they accepted tips through the app!

Traveling with one other adult I have Super Shuttled and Ubered from LAX. Uber was far nicer and faster. I plan on Uber from SNA for my next trip. I will also have Lyft ready as a back-up. (I prefer Uber because I have a gift card but if surge pricing is in effect I'll use check on using Lyft.)

Disneyland Resort Express. It made us feel like we were really doing Disney...might sound weird, but we always take DME at WDW. We had no issues. Waited about 15 minutes after landing for a pick up. They do only run at certain times though, so Uber etc. is probably quicker

I found a very reasonable Alamo rental car. Most airlines allow one car seat (or booster) per child to be checked for free, so I have super cheapies that I bought at Walmart and check at the counter. It is honestly cheaper than renting a car seat. You could totally uber with those car seat too, and I would do that if I was ONLY going to Disneyland. But I'm a sucker for the beach, so having the flexibility to drive around is nice.

If I didn't have kids or they were older, I would uber around, even to the beach if I wanted!

I was hoping we could figure out a way to the beach. I guess trial by fire and uber or lyft it is LOL

We usually drive, but in June we flew into SNA and I had reserved Super shuttle for my granddaughter and I. Paid online with tip included.
Loved the service. I know its silly, but I wasn't comfortable using Uber/Lyft and liked being with other people. The time to drop others off first if necessary doesnt bother me. Round trip was only $22 per person, plus tip. So if you're not in a hurry or super picky about the vehicle (ours was fine, driver was great) save some money and reserve a shuttle ahead of time

For Disneyland we flew into SNA and rented a car for the week. We did beach days and went to LA to visit my sister-in-law, and since we stayed at HoJo, we had free parking and easy entry/exit to the hotel right by the freeway. We definitely plan to rent a car every time we visit California - it makes things so much easier for us.
