How do you get codes/rates?

I was just wondering how people get the emails, postcards, etc. from Disney that announce special rates and other events. I'm signed up on their website, but that's obviously not how this works because I have never received anything. Do you have to be an AP holder? DVC member? Thanks!

I figure it's just randon luck, since I've been signed up forever, and have not received a post card or email telling me about a code! That being said, there is still a chance of calling to book, asking if there's a code by your name, and finding out that there is...I found out the hard way; after the fact. I never knew there was one for trips up to the first week of June, and therefore missed a good discount for our April visit to WL. I still got a AAA discount but I believe the pin code would have been lots better!
If you have a trip already in the works, call and ask them about it.
