One of the thing i like at WD is the buses (i know so do not ).do buses run to and from all the DVC resort and do the run on time? TIA

Yes, the DVC resorts all offer bus or boat service to all theme parks, DTD and water parks, just as the other Disney resorts do.

Not sure what you mean by "on time"? The Disney buses don't run on a schedule. They are dispatched on an as-needed basis.

they have buses that run t all of the DVC reorts to the parks and waterparks also DTD.But there are not buses that run from resort to resort if thats what you are asking. You would need to take a bus to DTD or a park and then you would catch the bus from there to the other resort.
Now like the BCV,BWV,Swan and Dolphin and Yacht club you can catch the boat from place to place some of the buses pick up at the other resorts.

We most always drive and that way we can go from resort to resort without the hassle.

We have rented a car, drove our own car from Ny and used strcitly Disney transport. So far what works best for us is to use Disney transport 98% of the time. For evenings we have a special dinner planned we may take a cab so we do not have to take a bus to a hub and transfer to a resort -but this cost will still be less than renting a car for a week.

I use the buses. I run down to Florida too often to be renting cars. But I have found them to be mostly unpredictable, and if I have to be somewhere at a certain time I need to provide for a lot of transportation time in my schedule.

We drive our own car most of the time, but we will utilize the buses once we are there if it is a time of year when crowds are lighter. This past holiday season we drove to all parks are other resorts. It was just way to crowded.:)

Now that we own DVC, we drive to Florida, but once at a resort we will use the Disney busses. Average travel time is 20 - 30 mins, with an occasional long wait here and there. Overall (especially with gas prices) we are pleased with the bus system, and plan to continue to use it.

Do buses from the villas go directly to the TTC??? And I assume that ME goes from the airport to all the villas too?

Resort buses do not go to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). Each park, including MK, has its own resort bus stops. All the resorts are on bus routes. Most resorts either have multiple bus stops or share bus routes with other resorts (I can come up with only two which have only one bus stop at the resort and never share buses: Pop Century and AKL.)

In order to travel from resort to resort using Disney transportation (if you are using buses and not traveling among the MK or Epcot resorts), you must take a bus from your resort to either an open park or Downtown Disney and switch there to a bus that is going to the resort you wish to visit.

This can take varying amounts of time, based on how long it takes the buses to arrive and how many stops there are on each bus route.

Even if we have a car we take the bus to MK because we avoid the TTC and the tram. Just a short walk to the park itself.

We don't drive at all. We let the DME service take us to the resort and resort transportation every where else.

We use all modes of Disney transportation. We do not drive at WDW !

Same with us. Our last trip, we took buses, boats, and the monorail. Never had any issues or extremely long waits. We don't like renting a car, and then just having it sit around the majority of the time. If we really needed to be somewhere, and are running late, we'd take a taxi.

When me and DH are there with the car, we use it to get around, especially on non-park "resort" hopping days, because buses don't go resort to resort, which kind of surprises me since the resorts are so themed one could make a day (and do) just exploring resorts.

When I am there with a girlfriend, in which case we fly, we spoil ourselves and have a car service pick us up at the airport, do a grocery stop and drop us off directly at our resort, and usually use cabs to go resort to resort, and buses/boats/monorail to go to the parks.

usually we love the bus system. but our last trip we tried them but it didn't work out. we had a 7 month old with a big stroller and carseat that attaches to the stroller that we had to take off, fold down, carry the bags and squish us all in from DTD on a busy night.

the next day we drove - free parking and complete ease of mind.

when our daughter is older and out of the stroller/diaper bag phase we'll go back to the bus but until then we drive.

We usually use Disney transportation. We are empty nesters. I have found different folks can wait others can not. I was told years ago at WDW you should plan around an hour to go anywhere. Worst case, the bus just left, the schedule is running at 30 mins, the next bus is late due to traffic and the like. It takes longer than normal to get to wherever. Best case, you arrive and bus arrives. No traffic or other things to slow you down. From one resort to another at WDW, DVC or not is to go to an open park or DTD then another bus. The exceptions are busses that are shared and going in the order you want. Driving to MK is a big pain. Park at TTC and then monorail or boat to MK.

In January I rented a car because I got a great deal ($88 for 8 days through National - got an SUV in the Emerald Aisle!). However, we used it to get to the resort and made a grocery stop along the way. Then it sat in the parking lot until we left. The buses are just so easy to use... We had intentions of using the car to get to some ADRs, but didn't need to.

Maybe next year I will learn and just use Magical Express and Disney transportation. :)
