I loathe, hate and despise Disney transportation. Sorry, just don't like it.
I'm glad you guys have met nice people because man o man, the folks who are so rude and god forbid you don't break down your stroller fast enough!! Jeez

Not to mention, the end of the night made dash to get on a bus and back to the resort.

We don't go if we don't have a car.

Really? We've been using the buses to the parks forever, and I think I could count the times on one hand that we encountered rude people on the bus. We usually stay at OKW though, so maybe those of us staying there are just nicer to each other. I can see why people who stay at BWV might loath the bus to the MK though.

Man, diane I had 2 really horrid stories, both at the end of the night. It was many years ago, when both my sons were in strollers but after those two incidents I swore never to step foot on a disney bus again. The only time we'll do disney transportation is if we are staying at the WLV's and we take the boats over.

To recap quickly, it was our second trip to the world and we were staying at Ft. Wilderness, because we go in August MGM, now HS used to have 2 showings of Fantasmic. we went to the later one and unfortunately our sons fell asleep in their strollers. also unfortunately we decided not to unbuckle them and pick them up until we saw the bus pulling in. We were first in line. Another guest started yelling about how inconsiderate it was to make every one else wait and we should move to the side and let the others get on and that if they missed the bus, there would be Heck to pay. Naturally this got my dh going and it almost ended with the police being called.

We went to the onsite car rental the next day. but I've noticed this impatient, not so tolerant attitude even now. When we have to wait for the parking lot trolley, the snide nasty comments will fly to people who dare to have small kids with strollers. :confused3 I do notice it's generally at night when the park is emptying so maybe folks are just hot and tired.

generally drive down in my own car - park it and take WDW transportation.

now there are exception when I am meeting someone - will generally drive over.

most of the people on the bus are great. since have a tendency to be talking to everyone on the bus. they are generally very friendly.

have had problems with bus drivers - especially those that didn't seem to know where they were going.... :rotfl: since disney has changed the system really don't expect this to a problem again.

try the bus or monrail or boat - whatever your resort has - if you don't like it then you can always go back to renting a car.

just remember for grocery you can use wegoshop or garden grocer - just remember to place your order 2 weeks before. if you wait later all their times can be gone.

We haven't rented a car in 16 years at WDW. We are never in that much of a hurry that we think we need a car. Love WDW transportation. It's not perfect, but we are a laid back family so we don't stress if we have to wait; which is not often. Plus we don't have to worry about walking far to entrances and wondering where we parked the car in the parking lot madhouse. The bus or boat drops us of a minute or two from the entrance.
