How do you get along with your neighbors?

I have neighbors on either side, behind, and diagonally behind, so 5 houses all together. Across from me is a church and a cemetary, so they are really quiet neighbors;)

Four out of the five are nice folks, one couple is a pain, but they are one of the diagonals, not one of the directs, so it's not too bad. We ignore them. They moved into the neighborhood about 3 or 4 years ago right before Christmas, after having lived in a condo complex for 25 years. They started right off with my dog barking...didn't like that, called me twice to complain about the dog barking 3 times at a truck that went by my house @ 2 :00 in the afternoon. I told them that when the dog was barking at 2AM, they could call me, but otherwise, don't bother me. My dog is very well supervised, is never out if I am not home, and when he barks for more than a minute I pull him in the house. I later found out that she had been president of her condo association for many years prior to moving to our neighborhood, so maybe she thought she'd elect herself president of the neighborhood. NOT!! My house, my business.

On all other sides I have the nicest neighbors you could hope for!!!!!!!! :)

Good neighbors here.

DS10 has always thought of the next-door neighbors like a bonus set of grandparents, and they always include us in their family gatherings.:)

We live in a cul-de-sac, with 6 houses. 4 of our neighbors are great, the one right next door to us is a single dad with a child I have named "the spawn of sa***"....since we sort of share a front yard, his son (about 10 I think) and all of his friends congregate and play there...RIGHT UNDER MY 3 YR OLD'S BEDROOM WINDOW, WHICH IS ONLY ABOUT 3 FEET OFF THE GROUND. The dad is never home, and this kid has been outside at midnight before playing basketball, bouncing it off of my dd's window!!!! He also bounces his balls off of my roof, mostly on my bathroom skylight... everytime I see him come outside my blood pressure skyrockets!!! All of our other neighbors have been very nice, we gather in our yards to talk or whatever, one of them watches our house while we are away, but this guy next door is horrible!!

My neighborhood was built in the 50's, and we moved here about a year ago. It took me about 6 months to meet one of my next door neighbors. When I did, it turned out that he was one of my Dad's best friends in the 60's(my Dad went to grad school here), and I am getting them together for a reunion next weekend when my Dad comes to visit. :bounce: I am so excited. LOL

We live on a beautiful street with big, beautiful houses. Everyone is nice, but very, very wierd! No-one really talks to each other, no one gets together.

Everyone has a pool (deed restricted to be inground only). And no one invites any neighbors over!

My back door neighbor has 4 boys and we have one boy. My son is a happy and interactive child. Anytime he sees the boys out playing, he goes over to say hello. Unfortunately, the boys tell my son to "go home." Not friendly at all.

My other neighbor has girls. None my sons' age. In over 5 years, they have not said more than 5 words to us.

Very sad. I'm living amongst the nuevo riche, but they have no class and no manners.

One side are very nice...........we don't live in each other's pockets or anything but we do chat over the fence & exchange food over the fence:)

The other side are not so friendly & really don't mix at all, even tho they have a son the same age as my eldest:(

I have lived in the same house for 38 years, Have always had wonderful neighbors. Except for the neighbors who live across the street. Who knows what their problem is. All I know 2 years of waving and say Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening, and never got any response. I now just stare, they have been here for 30 years and talk to no one in the neighborhood.

my neighbor is a gross pig. he burps and farts all day while out there redoing his old cars. I he called the police on me when I was yelling at my son when he was 15. patback is a B****, now his wife is having a bay at 39 yrs old and he is 45, let the yelling begin, I can't wait to see what he is going to be like, wait I know, he's a dope:D

We don't live in a neighborhood per se. I probably know the names of several families who live in the area behind our property (which I refer to as doctors' hill) and a couple who live in the development across the street. When we moved in here 20-some years ago, we were the nice young couple with the brand new baby. Now we're the old people (relatively speaking, of course) who live down the hill. Acreage is a good thing! LOL!!

I'm reading some of these posts and I have come to a conclusion, it isn't like it used to be when I was a little kid and neighbors were neighbors. now peoplel more or less stay to themselves and don't both. I remeber my parents always having neighbors over for coffee or whatever, things have real ly chnaged in my 45 yrs of life:D
