I've done it in the past, maybe it's time to re-try.

What do you think?

If you are on it - is it working for you - yes! I know it'll work if you work it..

I have been on weight watchers since 1/1/11 and I love it. I lost 30 pounds last year and decided to just try to maintain from Sept through the end of the year. I just started back up again and in no time I have lost another 5 or so pounds. My husband started this year and has already lost 25 pounds. It is perfect because you can eat anything as long as it fits into your points structure for the day.

I restarted WW (for what seemed like the MILLIONTH time) on January 2, 2008. I wanted to lose some weight for an upcoming Disney trip. I was DETERMINED not to return to Disney heavier than I had been the previous trip, so I spent from 1/2 through mid-April sticking to the WW plan LIKE GLUE. And it worked. I lost about 35 pounds and returned to WDW slimmer than before!

But the big difference this time.... I GOT BACK ON PLAN AS SOON AS I RETURNED from my trip.... and I haven't looked back since. I finally hit what I now consider my "goal range" in the summer of 2010.

I think one of the things that I like best about WW is that NOTHING is forbidden... NOTHING! I tend to eat a fairly healthy clean diet. I pretty much eliminated alcohol and most refined sugars and starches as I made my way on this journey.... but it's nice to know that I CAN have a splurge and still be OP. I can have a cocktail on my birthday or a piece of cake on my child's birthday.... and still be OP. If I have a craving I can have a piece of chocolate, or a bowl of chips, or a scoop of ice cream... and I can still be OP! Not to say that I do it very often, but I think that the MENTAL option being always open is delightful. It is very UNLIKE some of those other plans out there where one scoop of ice cream will "un-do" a full day's worth of OP eating (thinking primarily of Atkins and South Beach).

Sure, there is some work involved in journaling your food and keeping track of your points. But MOST weight-loss plans will tell you that you should/must journal your foods/points/calories, so WW isn't alone in that regard.

The one thing I cannot comment on is the new PointsPlus plan. When I made the decision to restart WW, I did it on my own. So I haven't been to any meetings to learn about the new system. But I've heard good things about it. But the "group support" part of WW was really lacking for me, since I wasn't attending meetings, so I was so happy to find the BL groups here! They are like my DAILY WW meetings!! I make time nearly EVERY DAY to check in with my group. It definitely keeps me on track most of the time.

If you aren't familiar with the WW system, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you fork over the $$ and attend meetings. You should be able to find a great leader without much trouble. I've had a few GREAT ones in the past, so I know they are out there!

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have. I'll help with whatever I can. Best of luck......................P

I lost 15 lbs on WW back in 2006. I then gained it back and then some. That was mostly because I didn't make the change permanent. At the time I was working fo Disney as a performer and essentially got paid to work out 5 times a day. So I didn't have to be completely OP.

I've tried a local place (slim4life) and Jenny Craig since then. I am now back on WW. It's probably the least expensive and it works. You just have to be willing to commt and make te change.

I can't say enough about WW! I have been up and down for 14 years....I joined in October 2010 needing to drop a good 50lbs. Completely overwhelming. Well I am still going and am down 33.8 lbs as of now. On the bright side I do not "need" to lose 50 lbs anymore , its only 17-20!

It has been slow these last 6-8 months but it's ok. One thing I am CERTAIN of is that if I stopped going or lost it on my own I would gain every pound back and then some. Not even a question.

For me I am worth the hour (7am Sunday mornings- doesn't interfere with anyone else in my house!) and the $10 per week!

Let us know how you make out no matter what your decision is!
Good luck:wizard:

One more thing- if you dont love the first leader try another meeting. There are amazing leaders out there! ( I think they are all fab just some are better than others)

I started doing WW again on January 3, 2012, and I've lost 23.5 pounds so far. My doctor believes that WW is the best plan out there because it uses real world food and common sense - and she's right!! Not just because she's a doctor, either . . . it IS using real world food - not shakes or powders or special meals - and it is really just using common sense to make smart decisions for your life. I don't like to think of it as a "diet", so I don't use that word. I call it a lifestyle change!

Good luck - I know you can do it!!! :thumbsup2

I tried it back in high school (10-15 years ago) and just started up again the week before Christmas. My employer pays for At-Work meetings, so we meet on Thursdays in the conference room just a few feet away from my cube. Can't beat that!

I just earned my 10% keychain on 3/8. I have about 18 pounds to go to get to my goal weight, a number that I used to think was not possible...but I'm starting to think it is!

I'll echo what everyone else has said...it works because nothing is off-limits. I feel that this is a change I can keep up with because I don't FEEL like I am on a diet. I'm just being smarter about what and how I eat. I love that GSD4ME referred to it as a lifestayle change...it's totally true.

I also like having the activity points, weekly points, and that points are calculated looking at total far, carbs, protein and fiber, not just calories. It's just a good program. :thumbsup2

I started WW last May and have lost about 55 lbs, and I have about 20 to go. The last few months have been an up and down struggle because I'm not working the program well, but it definitely works!

I've fought with my weight for a while and started just before the new year. I've lost about 12 pounds so far and still losing. It's been great and people are noticing :goodvibes:cool1:

I started WW in April 2008. I lost 20 lbs very quickly and then another 20 very slowly. I finally made goal weight and became a lifetime member is Nov. 2010. I did really well on maintenance until Oct of last year when I started gaining again. I am now up 15 lbs and just started going back to meetings again two weeks ago. WW is really the only diet that has ever worked for me. However, I will say I am not loving the poitns plus program as much as I liked the points program. I am considering going back to points since I still have all my old stuff. I also found the most awesome recipe blog that provides WW points and WW points plus for every recipe. I have made several of the dishes and they are all excellent. It's called skinnytaste.com.

I joined WW *again* 2/21. Today I hit my 5%, and, by the way, i LOVE that they celebrate the 5% loss now!

I first joined in early 2000, then again in very early 2003, then again mid-2004. I just kept quitting. I loved the program in 2000, but the other times I joined, I felt like they were making stupid changes, LOL. I was worried about the new-new-new program, but it turns out I REALLY like it.

I like that most fruit/veggies is zero, b/c before, I wasn't "wasting" my points on fruit/veggies. That's not a good way to eat, LOL. I like that they are counting protein now. I wish beer were 3 points, not 5 points plus, but oh well...it wasn't helping me anyway.

What's even more amazing is that DH is losing, too. It turned out that he was far heavier than he thought he was, and he's at the max points you can have. He's eating so much more REAL food than he was before, and he finds that he's full all day and doesn't even crave the naughty things! And he's losing weight "like a man", instead of the tiny dribs and drabs he was losing on the WW programs before (he did it in '03 and '04 and longer than me that time). He can't even get into his Weekly Allowance.

Oh, and the Weekly Allowance...I hated it when they first introduced the idea (in '04 ish, I think?), but now I like it a lot. It's like you're cheating, but you're not! It's allowed! Best of both worlds. :)

I started WW in February. After 5 weeks, I have already lost 22 pounds. Like others have said, WW doesn't feel like a diet and I don't consider it one, it's definitely a lifestyle. There's no other diet out there where you can have McDonald's and Applebees in the same week and still lose 5.8 pounds like I did the other week..LOL The key to it all is tracking your food. If you eat it, track it. The mobile apps are a lifesaver too. No more having to write it all down, you can keep it right on your phone.

I started WW on March 17, 2012 and through my first three weeks I've lost over 23 pounds. I have an iPhone and have the WW app which makes tracking your points a breeze! I really like the fact that the program teaches you how to navigate the "real world" of foods. I have a long ways to go yet but I've taken the first steps and am glad I did. My DW and I joined together and it's nice to have some alone time with her doing something that benefits both of us!

My doctor also strongly suggested I join WW as he believes it's the best weight loss and lifestyle change program out there.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

Worked for me! I started on May 10, 2011. Hit goal on January 24, 2012, with a loss of 69.2 pounds, and made Lifetime on February 28, 2012.

It. Is the only thing that has ever worked for me. I've been on it 3 different times, and had success every time. Before, I would get on it and get lazy, so then I quit. This time, my head is in the right place so I am sticking with it!

I did it a few times and lost 28IBS but I don't like it in the long run. I've been using myfitnesspal and I got my head around it straight away. So much better IMO.
