How do you find out character greeting times

Before you arrive and get a times guide, or can go to guest services and find out? IN particular we want to see Woody, Jessie, and Buzz but want to know what time they will start appearing - is it right when the park opens, an hour after - does anyone know??? We are planning on going to see them a friday morning with a 9am opening - I want to do maybe 1 or 2 things in FL (kids are scared of dark rides and it will be our second day so this will probably just be to repeat a favorite) and then head to find these characters. I know the cast members are very helpful locating characters. Last summer, we took family for their first trip to DL. I had Verizon Mobile Magic. I was able to locate Woody and Buzz, much to the delight of my 7 year old nephews.
