Haven't missed a Johnny Depp movie yet, so yes I will be seeing it. I do like the Tim Burton/Johnny Depp duo. There are a few of TB's things that have been a bit too out there but for the most part I like his stuff. Watched Sleepy Hollow last night--perfect story for Tim and Johnny together!

I prefer Johnny in things like Public Enemies but I think AiW will be fun to watch.

My kids 10 and 7 are so excited to see this. My daughter is 7 and she LOVES TB Willy Wonka movie. I am just not sure. It does seem creepy but Alice in wonderland has always been creepy, that is the story. I just don't want to scare her.

I saw a 12:01 showing last night (and am paying for it today ) and I have to say, I thought it was a really great movie.

I won't spoil anything in the movie, but the visuals are absolutely amazing (worth the extra couple of dollars for 3-D for sure). It was totally "Tim Burton does Alice" is the best possible way.

While the story does diverge a little from the original, all the familiar elements are there. There is a more action-adventure vibe toward the end, but it really fits with the overall storyline very well. The visuals in the sequences are really stunning too. Acting was excellent just about all the way around. The only character I thought was really over the top was Anne Hathaway's... but I think that was more a directorial choice than anything she did.

As for the darkness of the film... well, it's Tim Burton. But this is MUCH more "Edward Scissorhands" than "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." And it works for the story they are telling.

I would totally go see it again in the theatre. And that's something I NEVER say.
